Spacecraft that crashed into the moon last month kicked up a relatively small plume. But scientists have confirmed the debris contained water — 25 gallons of it — making lunar exploration exciting again.
Because the moon was just getting BORING!
Highlight is mine.

And they laughed when I bought all mineral rights to the moon from that door-to-door salesman. Who's laughing now, loved ones?

Too bad you didn't buy the water rights. Now, that would be something. ;)

I thought drilling for water was covered under mineral rights. At least that's what the salesman told me. I don't know for sure, I'm more of a War bonds guy.

Awesome!
see...here I was feeling especially geeky cuz I was all excited when I heard this...
good to see Im not the only one.
It is scientifically interesting, unfortunately it may be taken as policy interesting.
This does nothing to actually improve the case for putting people on the moon. If there really was an interest in "exploring" the moon, we'd have had dozens of Mars rovers there already.

Who's ready to market "Luna"? Exquisite water bottled directly at the lunar source, with a taste that's "out of this world".
I'll make the labels. Someone grab some empty bottles and their garden hose. ;)

What, did they stop making Lunar rovers? (Coolest car of my childhood, right after the Batmobile)
