In honor of Monty Python’s 40th Anniversary and because the holiday season is about giving, the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club in partnership with MashCast.com will host the first-ever SillyWalks for Hunger. The event will be an on-the-ground local focal point benefitting the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank in the midst of a larger-scale online hunger relief initiative benefitting Feeding America and the Global FoodBanking Network.
The purpose of the event is to bring attention to the online initiative The mission of Sillywalks for Hunger is to collect food, and use text message donations to drive 1 million meals for families and children in need this holiday season.
SillyWalks for Hunger will include:
* A worthy cause!
* A huge, multimedia production where you will become part of the show as celebrity choreographers, Rich + Tone, teach you a fun, easy, silly step anyone can do. Help out and become part of silly walking history
* Attendance by film, TV and comedic celebrities and other public figures
* A bid to create the world record for the most people ever to do silly walks at one time, in one place
* Hordes of walkers (walking silly) for a great cause, while having fun with family and friends
* Prize giveaways
Registration starts at 5:30 pm, with silly walks taking place promptly at 7pm.
All you need is a bag of non-perishable food to donate, and a keen sense of humor may help. :)
