Today I finally met Maynard! He really is a nice guy, and a crack up! He voiced his Moui radio comercial for me.

Here's our picture (I took it, so i look a little distorted):

The link didn't work.
Here's the pic.

Maynard is hysterical. I saw him a couple of times at the park. I sat through the Tiki Room show with him and he's hysterically funny throughout. Love him!

ETA: RStar beat me to it.

Great shot! I love Maynard and where are you in this photo (meaning location, I get it, you're the one who is not Maynard)

We are at the entrance to Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, just in front of the park bench that Walt sat on. Maynard was pleased to see that I got Walt in the shot also!

What a waste of talent having Maynard simply be a greater. He's great to talk to, but put him in a speel with his colorful embelishments and he really shines! Of course with the landlocking and tight scripting, it's no longer possible for him to show off his talents anyway. :(

And thanks, GC. I kinda forgot how to post a picture there for a few minutes. I got it on the third try.

Who is Maynard? Was he one of the Ritz Brothers?

No, he was one of radio's original Cheese Nips. Sadly, during the '50s the group crumbled under accusations of anti-Asian racism. Brilliant work, though. They reunited briefly for an NPR retrospective in the early '70s, hoping to stir interest in a tour of concert venues. They once again ran into trouble with their name, having retooled, slightly, to become the Cheez-Its. Teen dignity groups, with heavy financial backing from the Clearasil Company, served "Those Guys," as they were known, with a cease and desist. Famously, Maynard left the group to take an hourly job as a native headhunter in Disneyland's Jungle Cruise. Over the years, his silent service to the Disney Company has advanced him to the ranks of the "Main Street Morning-Coaters," which every Disneyland Fan knows to be the pinnacle of achievement within the greater theme park community.

The story of the three remaining (1 1/2 surviving) Nips is a familiar one of betrayal, alcoholism, and food addiction, and we will not be recounting it here.

Hey evelybody! It's "those guys," Reonard, Maynard, Chollie, and Big Max, with an hour of hirarity and hi-jinks! You turn you ladio up roud and have some fun now with The Cheese Nips! - The rarely heard, original sign-on from their inaugural broadcast, August 6th, 1945.

What a waste of talent having Maynard simply be a greater.:I believe that you don't get Great Moments for nothing. Lots of guest interaction required.

He's still at the Tiki Room, too. Not sure about Mansion.

Charlie Mansion? He's in prison. And a good thing, too, he was a terrible greeter.

True that as he stands out front it leaves a large amount of time to chat, which is rare at the other attractions.

Unfortunatly, he can't do the Mansion any more. That was his best gig, IMHO. He does Tiki, Astro Orbitor, and Mr Linclon. No more Jungle Cruise either. He had a short stint at DCA, but he said they pulled him back to DL permanently.
