I didn't quite know where to put this, but it does relate to Disneyland, so I'll stick it here.

As it's been fairly well known around here, I haven't had a great start to the year- but I did get to go to Disneyland yesterday, and last night in the Tiki Room, the magic and dare I say it, the ENCHANTMENT of that place really got to me.

We sat in our usual spot, back row- I like to feel the wave of air when the thunder rolls through after the Hawaiian War Chant. When the music started, I wasn't a cynical, disturbed 35 year old at all- I was the 2 or 3 year old kid when I first saw the show. My mouth was open in weird sort of "poses"- a look of awe that would probably only be seen on an infant seeing the most AMAZING THING EVER! I could feel my fingers pointing at all this motion and the music just coursed through me. I felt tears down my cheeks and I did nothing to hold them back.

Thanks Walt.

Love it! Totally agree, Matt.

I've had that happen to me at the park. It's a great feeling! It's wonderful when something like that chases the grey clouds away.

Well, I do not know what happened to you this year, CM, but I do know the 'Tiki-room' feeling you describe. It's like the chill I get each and every time I emerge from under the entrance onto Main Street.

Super mojo for you, Matt. And somebody show this to the geniuses who thought our Florida Tiki Room required "New Management." (harumph!)

I love it! I thought this would be appropriate:

Ole! Ole! It’s [Ch]owtime!

In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
All the birds sing words and the flowers croon
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room

Welcome to a tropical hideaway, you lucky people, you
If we weren’t in the show starting right away
We think we’d all be in school

Altogether!
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
All the birds sing words and the flowers croon
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room

I sing so beautiful, I should sing solo!

Si, so low we can’t hear you!

My voice may not be so marvelous, but my profile is out of this world.
Ja wohl, but the problem is, it’s not far enough out of this world! Isn’t that right, Herr Schmidt? Oh ho, I see! Schmidt has no hair!

Mi amigos, stop the clucking. You sound like a bunch of old hens. There’s a lot of birds waiting to go on. For instance!

The boys in the back are called macaws
Because of their claws?
No, because they’re macaws! And our fine feathered friend is a jolly toucan, and toucans are better than one toucan can!

The bird of paradise is an elegant bird
It likes to be seen and it loves to be heard
Most little birdies will fly away, but the Tiki Room birds are here every day!

In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
All the brds sing words and the flowers croon
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room

Our show is delightful, we hope you’ll agree. We hope that it fills you with pleasure and glee. Because if we don’t make you feel like that, we’re gonna wind up on a lady’s hat!

In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
All the brds sing words and the flowers croon
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room

Our magnificent production is yet to come, so strum the guitar and beat the drum. We’ve been a hit, and we know you adore us, so come on and join us in another chorus!

In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
All the brds sing words and the flowers croon
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room

A little louder!

In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room
All the brds sing words and the flowers croon
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki tiki room!

Two corrections (from memory):

If we weren’t in the show starting right away
We' be in the audience too!
