As a favor to a couple of friends who are traveling to Tokyo as I write this, I recently posted a few HubPages with my own Tokyo travel tips. My friends were both in the "eager to see the Disney parks, reluctant to go beyond that" category, so my posts were intended to encourage them to get out and see a bit of the real Japan. (Based on my own decidedly hurried and limited experience, of course.)

I thought I'd link them here, in case anyone is interested. OR just jump to the video links below. They include music that I just composed last week.

One Day Tokyo Highlights (http://hubpages.com/hub/Best-of-Tokyo-Just-One-Day)

How I Got Very Lost in Kamakura, and Encourage Others To Do Likewise (http://hubpages.com/hub/Day-Trip-To-Kamakura)

Hanayashiki - Very Tiny, Very Old Amusement Park (http://hubpages.com/hub/Tokyos-Tiny-Surprise-Hanayashiki)

There are videos embedded in all three of those hubs, but if you just want to check out the video, here are the YouTube links:

A Tranquil Trip to Asakusa and Senso-ji Temple (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJXxhkggKgU&feature=channel)

A Breezy Visit to Meiji Shrine (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD8DLIfx1vw)

A Meditative Tanka on Kamakura (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kub5o3S5n0&feature=channel)

And two videos of the tacky and bizarre Hanayashiki park - these are not as artsy as the ones posted above:

Arigato, Hanayashiki! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROuCRqlOK18)

And this spooky dark ride oriented video is possibly NSFW due to its shocking ending:

Hanayashiki Horror (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QixaUub0fNc&feature=related)

Hope y'all enjoy (when you have sufficient time) - I can't believe my Tokyo trip was two years ago. Egads!

I will check these out later, too. I think I'm still smarting a bit from the canceled LoT trip to Tokyo. I was really looking forward to that, and I've had no similar opportunity since - nor do I see any on the horizon. So it will be bittersweet to watch - because I wants me some TOKYO!

(of course, I couldn't afford a trip to Japan then, nor can I now ... but a boy can dream. I'll check out those links when bittersweet melts to dreaminess in a little while)

Ugh, the Rat posted a video (http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=376823827735) from Tokyo this morning on Facebook.

It's hitting me from all over the interwebs. I wanna go I wanna go I wanna go!!!

It was weird - the LoT Tokyo trip just sort of disappeared for me. It would have been a lot of fun, I imagine.

*le sigh*

I am itching for another trip to Tokyo. This will have to suffice until I actually get there again.

Really cool stuff. I especially enjoyed Lost in Kamakura.
