NirvanaMan and I have purchased our tickets to the annual Theodore Payne Native Plant Garden tour (http://www.theodorepayne.org/Tour/index.html). The tour is actually 2 days (Saturday April 10 and Sunday April 11), but we're only doing the Sunday tour. Anyone feel like joining us?
From the site:
The Theodore Payne Native Plant Garden tour is a two-day, self-guided journey through 50 of the most beautiful and inspiring native landscapes in the Los Angeles area.
On the tour, you’ll discover the beauty and many benefits of the California native plants. You’ll learn from experienced native-plant gardeners and volunteer docents how they have reduced water use, eliminated harmful pesticides and fertilizers, and attracted songbirds, hummingbirds and butterflies to their yards.
To help you select gardens and get the most out of your tour, we have posted photos and descriptions of each garden on the tour. Take a few minutes to visit these pages and plan your journey with us.

Sunday is our last hockey game of the season. And while it doesn't actually mean anything (and frankly is going to be a bit depressing) I will be attending to support my team.

Ugh - Maddie gets back from her trip Saturday at 10:45PM. No way she'll be pleasant enough to be around by Sunday afternoon.
Hopefully next time.

I will be furiously preparing for my craft fair with some other crafty ladies and some not-so-crafty pugs and cats. Next year though.........

I will be boarding a pod cruiser on a Space Station for a routine reconnaissance mission. I expect I will take an abrupt detour through a space time wormhole that will land me on a strange planet where talking apes rule over the human race. With the help of a sympathetic chimpanzee activist named Ari and a small band of human rebels, I anticipate that I will lead the effort to evade the advancing Gorilla Army led by General Thade and his most trusted warrior Attar. The race will be on to reach a sacred temple within the planet's Forbidden Zone to discover the shocking secrets of mankind's past - and the key to its future.

There will be a very good chance of rain on sunday. The plants won't mind, but you may. Just saying....

Well, now it looks like the rain may hold off just a bit, so I hope everyone has a great time with what they are doing Sunday (with the possible exception of composting the back lawn;) )!

Done!
And discovering the strange fungi bonded to the staves of our decaying rose bush barrels was an added bonus.
