Jack in the Box will offer guests a free order of fries all day on April 16; no purchase required.

Jack in the Box restaurants will be offering guests a free small order of the chain’s new french fries on Friday, April 16, 2010. No purchase is necessary, and the giveaway is limited to one order per guest for the day.

"We want guests to try our delicious new french fries, so what better way to do that than to give them away ... free," asked Tammy Bailey, division vice president of menu marketing and promotions for Jack in the Box Inc. "We introduced the new french fries last month, and the response has been terrific. Fries are such an important staple on our menu that it’s critical for us to offer a product that our guests will crave. And we think the new fries deliver on that expectation. They feature a crispier outside texture that really enhances the potato flavor and helps them retain their temperature."

The new french fries are available at participating Jack in the Box restaurant locations (http://www.jackinthebox.com/locations/) in three sizes -- small, regular and large -- and normally priced at approximately $1.39, $1.79 and $1.99, respectively, plus tax. Restaurants in Spokane, Wash., are excluded from the promotion.

Crispier outside texture. Oh god, don't tell me they're going the way of burger king's fries. Hope not.

I've met many of them :) Living this close makes that easy. Seems strange that one city is singled out though.

Um, I like their Criss-cut fries, and I've a hankering to try those new grilled sandwiches. Not interested in new regular fries at all. Not even free.

(wow, usually I'm a sucker for Free.)

The boy wants to try these. Thankfully JitB is in another town.

On another note I saw that Starbucks will give you a free brewed coffee tomorrow if you bring in your own refillable mug.

They're getting rid of their "natural cut" fries? Dammit. I liked those. And I'm still not over Carl's Jr. getting rid of their crinkle fries back in the 80s.

Carl's Jrs. current french fries save me a lot of money cuz although I love their burgers, the fries are terrible.

We like the criss cut fries at Carl's Jr now. We've been geting the junior bacon cheeseburgers and holding the condiments and adding bbq sauce. Mmmm just like a mini Western Bacon cheeseburger!

Oh, those tacos! They are so bad they're good. Have we had this conversation before? I have no idea what the meat is, but it looks like Alpo. And yes that scares me, but they are so good anyway.

Someone told me it's soy. I don't know if that's true. But yes they are so good and gross at the same time.

What is it about JitB tacos? They are just plain gross, but at the right times, they are the perfect food and I love them. Why is that?

Someone told me it's soy.

I heard that too but I would think if it was soy they'd have to list it as the primary ingredient.

oh yes, as opposed to 32% dog food. :)

I've never had tacos at JitB. Won't do that. Egg rolls either. I'm extending myself by being willing to try the new grilled sandwiches, but otherwise I barely trust a burger joint to make good burgers.

JitB egg rolls are awesome. And I <3 their Jumbo Jacks.

Now I wish the food fairy would bring me some since I'm not supposed to be doing a lot of driving.
