than shopping for airplane tickets?
I wasted about 5 hours of my Saturday buying a plane ticket. Certainly my slow dial-up connection is partially responsible for that, but not entirely.
Grrrrrr . . . is there any online task that is more frustrating?

Well, it depends on where you are going. I've been having fun watching airline tickets for Tokyo. I might feel differently if I were flying to, say, Fresno.

Yes, there can be. Having to be on a six hour flight with a screaming baby next to you! Not that I don't love the little ones but there is nothing worse. You feel bad for the kid too!

Maybe I should just stay put for the rest of my life. No, wait, I get bored too easily for that.
And I'm not flying to Fresno.

Grrrrrr . . . is there any online task that is more frustrating?Hmm....good question. I think any site that has an annoyingly circular set of links, where you're sent around and around and never find any answers, is always friggin' annoying. But it's not 5 hours annoying. I can't believe anyone uses dialup anymore, what with all the graphics-heavy sites out there. Although I guess it is better than tying a typewriter to a TV set with rope and taping a telephone wire to it. ;)
Hmm....you could make homemade one way telephones with paper cups and string.....play "TV" with a cutout box and put on your own shows (we used to use an inner tube as a TV screen when I was a kid)......but how would one "play Internet"?
Oh, wait, kids have their own computers now from like age 6 on, don't they?

You forgot that you can't believe that anyone still uses a cheapest in 1999 Dell anymore, too.
I avoid graphics heavy sites when I can. Or I visit them on my computer at work (brand new Dell--very snazzy).
