It's never too early to start talking about the Olympics.....

Meet Wenlock and Mandeville (http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/may/19/london-olympics-2012-mascot):

In the end they were neither animal, vegetable nor mineral. Nor, as some cynics had predicted, did they resemble white elephants.

Instead, Wenlock and Mandeville, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic mascots, elicited mostly baffled reactions as to just what they were at their unveiling today.

With a metallic finish, a single large eye made out of a camera lens, a London taxi light on their heads and the Olympic rings represented as friendship bracelets on their wrists, they resemble characters dreamed up for a Pixar animation.

I can't help thinking that Mandeville looks as if he just wet himself.

The author has clearly never seen a Pixar movie.

They look rather phallic to me. Maybe that's just the drugs talking.

Why can't they just pick animals anymore?

Maybe Disney now owns the rights to all cartoon animals.

They actually look like something from a Japanese cartoon.

To me it appears to be wearing assless chaps.

Whoa.

Quirky British guy acting + youtube window about the size of an airplane seatback screen + sound off + computer lab drone that sounds a lot like an airplane cabin = eerily strong sense memory of long airplane flights with bad movies with quirky British guys playing while I zone out.

Aren't all chaps, by definition, "assless"?

The term "assless chaps" referrs to when you don't wear any pants underneath.

What GD said.

I liked Hodori (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hodori) from the Seoul Olympics. He looked like Tony the Tiger, which was great for a ten year old.
