We went here today:

Malibu Family Wines (http://www.malibufamilywines.com/tastingroom.aspx)

It was fun. There is lots of room for picnicking. You can bring any food and non-alcoholic beverages you want (and there is some food available for purchase on site), just no outside alcohol. There are flush potties. There is yummy wine for sale by the bottle or by the tasting flight.

We did not bring a picnic or a bunch of friends to picnic with. We'd like to fix that. What say you to a picnic on the 27th?

The 27th is the Patchwork Indi Arts and Craft Festival in Long Beach - where I'll be selling my wares - so it's out for us. But, it looks like an enjoyable place to explore - even for the non-drinker.

How much does it cost, Pru? What time were you thinking?

It is free! Well, in theory you're supposed to buy a bottle to use the picnic tables, but we're planning to buy at least one. They open around 11, and we were thinking of trying to get there around then, then sit around and enjoy company for however long it lasts. One of my friends since the second grade may be coming down from Santa Barbara, so it's the opportunity to learn all about the Prudence of yore, as she has no filter and will tell you anything.

Should add - we'll buy at least one to drink there, and probably a few more to bring home. So we should be good on "paying" for our spot.

We wish we could join! If we weren't getting ready to fly out, we surely would.

Could you reschedule this for August? I can't add anything else to my calendar till then.

Otherwise, sorry I'll be missing it.
