What, if any, are your travel plans for 2005?
We're planning a South Pacific getaway in the middle of the year ~ probably Rarotonga. Then maybe, just maybe, a quick week in DL to catch up with a friend who'll be passing through that way in November...nothing's final yet, but my fingers are crossed:) Add to that a bit of cross-country travel here in NZ & it's shaping up to be a pretty good year.

WDW in May. Disneyland in late Dec 2005 or early Jan 2006. And now taking suggestions on relatively inexpensive jaunts for August.

We're moving to Boston in July. Ralphie has a job lined up at Harvard.
We're planning a trip to Hawai'i in June, then back to LA and then a cross country trip (DL, Vegas, Grand Canyon, some red states, then DC, NY) to Massachusetts. I was thinking detour to WDW, but it's too dang hot in July/Aug.

Alaskan cruise, probably in late August, and maybe a trip to either WDW or DLP this fall. Oh, and Cleveland this spring- to visit Eric's sis.

We're about to shove most of our travel into the next 3 weeks. Seattle this weekend for my great aunt's 100th, San Diego the next weekend for my best man's birthday, and some tentative plans for a weekend in a cabin at Lake Arrowhead (assuming we can get there with all the snow!).
After that, work is mumbling about sending me to a conference in San Fran in April. If so, I'll extend my stay through the weekend that follows and have CP fly up to join me. Might as well take advantage of my free plane ticket, eh?

I think a Vegas trip might be in order.

DL-May 5th
DL-July 17th
those are the only two I have planned so far. But we are planning for WDW in 2006.
Belleh, where do you have a room for the 17th? We, and a few others, booked Park Inn, a suite. I'm going sans kids again, let me know if you want to carpool :D

I have GOT to take a trip sans kids again down there.....perhaps if I'm a good little substitute teacher and make some moolah this year, I can swing it. I earned ZERO dollars in 2004! Go me!
Can I crash at someone's pad on Harbor Blvd. in May or July??
I swear I'll buy lots of drinks and I'm getting really good at shaking apple martinis.... :o Pweeezzzz???
In December, we're definitely doing Disney and it looks like my mom and her husband are coming with, which will kind of be annoying. Oh well. We're thinking of staying on-property, and kicking around the idea of WDW instead of Disneyland....they are participating in the Homecoming stuff and the deals I've seen so far are very very tempting. I'm just not a fan of WDW, but Courtney is dying DYING to go there.
No matter what, though, we'll be FLYING. No chance of hanging around in Redding again. Sheesh.
Between now and then, we have five snow weekends planned, starting with THIS weekend. Can't wait!! Now that Chloe is old enough to stand the cold for more than 10 minutes we can go play at Mt. Hood for a day at a time. We have a long weekend booked in February at Mt. Bachelor, too. Can not wait for that one.

San Francisco in the near future (my day with my dad).
Palm Springs or Carlsbad with the family toward the end of February.
Las Vegas possibly in April (please please please please I am hoping for this more than you know!)
WDW, maybe, not sure when.
Denver in December. Nephy, wanna do an Ocean Journey or a zoo meet with the kids? I miss OJ and I can't wait to see the new entrance at the Denver Zoo.

I got nothing planned but DL! I have a free trip to Vegas that I need to use. That's looking like maybe June. I have a friend there that's having a baby close to then. It would be fun to be there when it happens. I also have a free stay at place of my choosing, but that has no date yet. Maybe a San Fran/wine tasting trip in August. Never can tell.

Montreal is a beautiful city! We seem to go there for my other passion, Cirque du Soleil. Whenever they start a new show we end up there!!
We weren't going to go this year but they are having a Cirque convention and some friends convinced us we had to join in the fun! We are taking over a Marriott in Old town, it should be a blast!
When we went a couple years ago it was perfect. The weather was beautiful for April and they opened up a lot of the street cafes, but by the time we left it was snowing. It was so much fun to walk in Old Montreal by the river with it snowing on our heads and yet it wasn't freezing!
My husband is being sent to Vegas again and this time I get to go! Woohoo!
Maybe if I'm really lucky I can see the new show in Vegas and the new show in Montreal!

Swankers in Seattle! Wait, that doesn't sound proper. Seattle proper or a suburb? I can recommend a number of good Italian restaurants in various parts of town, as well as other eating/hotel establishments in the U-District area, should you require that information. We've visiting family in Redmond. I don't even know how mobile we'll be. My parents will have a rental car, we may be able to commondere that, especially for some after-hours swankin' because I know my parents won't need the car that late.
We're thinking of checking out this place (http://www.seesoundlounge.com/) on Saturday. Looks swakny, and has a promising description of Saturday's music choice. But again, that depends on our car access. We could always do the taxi thing, too, but dont' know if we want to spring for that. I believe that's the Union district. Does parking there on a Saturday night suck as much as I expect it does?
Edit: Wait, looking at the map, I actually know the area pretty well. It's just north of Pioneer Square. Excellent, I can make my way around there.

Ah, the Belltown area. Very swanky indeed! Parking in Belltown on a Saturday night sucks more than you can possibly imagine. The bus is strictly squaresville, but service between Seattle and the eastside has improved greatly and is an option for those who are without a car or who don't want to be responsible for a car by the end of the evening. Trip planner site at: transit.metrokc.gov (http://transit.metrokc.gov)
Redmond is my home town, you dig? Just down the street from the evil empire. There was a great Italian place in Redmond but it changed hands and it's not as great any more. There's a cool little teahouse (http://www.sassyhouse.com/) down town that has a great house blend. Not exactly swanky, but groovy nonetheless.

well, we started 2005 off in Paris at DLRP and were there through Jan 5th - so were a little backed up on vacation time, but were looking hopefully at a trip back to Virginia this summer to visit some friends that just moved back there, but that might not be til september/october because our friend is pregnant and due in Sept.
Other than that, nothing really big planned. Our next big trip is going to be Italy sometime, or maybe even one of the Asian disneylands.... hopefully in 2006 (*crosses fingers*)
We will do some weekend trips places, as we always do, out to AZ to visit my in-laws and some other friends in SouthEast Arizona, I also want to go back up to Napa/Sonoma this summer.

Very cool, we just came back from that area, did the indian ruins in Casa Grande just north of you, and the Sonora living desert (just west of Tucson) before visiting our friends down in Sierra Vista.
I will definetly have to ask if my friends have been there... Where in sierra vista? More than likely off of Frye, because thats where everything in SV is, but let me know the area and Ill tell them to hop on over for dinner ;)
The clanton's have been big in Tombstone for sometime now, my uncle actually knows a few of the relatives (lets just say hes a little obsessed with Tombstone) and has done the boot hill tour and the Katchner Caverns which were popular back in that time.
But if you get to do the Boot Hill tour, definetly do it.. They have daily re-enactments of the Gunfight at the OK Corral there for like $5 a person, and you can even eat at Big Nose Kates Salloon.... :)
Do much the same as I did last year. I'm a bit of a truck nut (Chevy/GMC s-series pickups and blazers and the like). Flying down from here to Ontario, So Cal and driving with a girlfriend to St. Louis to a truck meet and back again. Last year it was in Kansas City. We drive one way and come back the other route, so as to hit 11 states. It's a great drive and a wonderful getaway.

I've got 2 more U2 concerts - NYC on Oct. 7, which I'll probably make into a weekend and Montreal on Nov. 26, which will definitely be a weekend trip up there. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!
I'm contemplating a quick weekend down to WDW the first weekend of December for MouseFest, but I'm not sure I can swing it since I'll be in Montreal the weekend before.
I'm hoping to get a trip to Maine sometime in late summer/fall to go shopping at LLBean.

Paris in October. I think that will suffice.

Am I all traveled out? I can't think of anything planned that requires travel.
The plans occupying my brain right now involve local excursions. There is so much in LA that I would like to see again, and some for the first time. I think I will begin a list of fun things I want to do on a local level. Maybe wee'll even get some swank in there as well.

Steph ~ Wow, how many U2 concerts are attending this year?
After my mental Disneyland adventure this past weekend thanks to all of your great stories, posts and of course pictures, the only thing to do is to see it all with my own two eyes...October 5-9th. Yeah!
Just 76 days until the Happiest Plane Ride on Earth but no one's really counting. ;)

Steph ~ Wow, how many U2 concerts are attending this year?Dare I confess this? So far:
May 21 - MSG, NYC
May 26 - Boston
May 28 - Boston
June 24 - Dublin
June 25 - Dublin
To come:
Oct. 7 - NYC
Nov. 26 - Montreal
I might also try to get tickets for Oct. 8 in NYC since I'll be in town. I'll either try to buy some or wait for the day-of release. Yes, I'm nuts.
My goodness. Color me impressed. :snap:

No plans as yet. With the exception of various trips to my mother's in Nevada, I'll be surprised if I leave the state.
I hope to ski this winter though.

I'm in Chicago again in September but that's a business trip - beyond that, I just don't know...

Disneyland October 20-23. I was there last for a weekend in Feb 02, with a 'real' vacation Sept 01 - and yes, we DID fly just a few days after Sept 11. Meeting one sister there (she lives near Bakersfield)
WDW November 25-December 3. Last trip was a weekend last October, 'real' vacation October '03 - bummed to miss the F&W fest this year, but I figure the Christmas decorations will make up for it! But, I'm getting an Annual Pass so I can go back for a F&W Fest weekend in October '06. Meeting 2 sisters (one from Portland, the one from Bakersfield) and a Bro-in-law there. The sister from Portland hasn't been there since before Epcot opened, her husband has never been!
"Home" to Oregon for Christmas.
Misc work trips that are not planned yet.

Alaska in August. That's probably it for 2005, although we're hoping to do Disneyland the first week of 2006.

In 20 days I leave for Rome, then Cologne, Germany with 11 teenagers. Further confirming the suspicion that I am, in fact, crazy.
