I was turned on to the website youropenbook.com earlier today. It's a sort of statement, I guess, about facebooks privacy settings and how all that stuff you post online is out there for everyone - good, bad and ugly.

It was suggested I search for "I'm not a racist but"... and that led me to so many interesting and offensive comments. From people speaking out against racism to those clearly racist.

Here's one: http://youropenbook.org/?q=%22I%27m+not+a+racist+but%22&gender=any

Spoilerized because of the offensive language.

Allyson Lamkin NOBAMA 2010. WE WOULD BE BETTER OFF WITH GEORGE W STILL PRESIDENT. im not racist but he sucks big time and hes a terrorist

Tamara Tammy Moses DONT U JUST HATE WHEN A WHITE PERSON TRY TO TALK TO U ANY KIND OF WAY????? IM NOT RACIST, BUT BITCH THE SLAVES DAYS IS OVER!!! I WILL CUSS UR ASS OUT JUST LIKE UR A NIGGA!!! THAT GOES 4 ALL NATIONALITIES!!!

Christopher Burry Im not a racist but explain how this asshole from ethopia got a job over me im chokin dis clown and slammin his head off the bar ****in go back to your mother land habeeb
(this one has a profile photo of a cute kid in a baseball uniform.)

I know it shouldn't amaze me but - wow - all these people are 1.racists and 2.dumb enough or proud enough about it to tell the world.

Have you heard of this website before? Looked anything interesting up?

Not only racist and dumb, but have little working grasp of the English language. I couldn't even read some of those!

I tried the search "Hozzie" to see if it would find me (re: my recent stay in Hospital) but I'm happy to say my security settings must be strict enough that it couldn't find me. Phew.

My default on FB is "friends only." It's a no-brainer.

LOL CP, that's the problem, no brains!

But, not really surprised, but really sickened.

The language problem bugs me, too. My nephews girlfriend posts things on FB and I finally had to ask my sister 'Did she go to school here or in Mexico?' Here, graduated.

We had kind of lamented the fact that she props the baby in front of the t.v. to watch Dora {since she was maybe 4 mos old?} but then I said 'Well, she'll learn better English watching t.v. than speaking with her mom'.

I think this falls under the same designation as comments at youtube or news sites....don't read them. Reading comments (or racist facebook posts) just ruins your day and makes you think the world is nothing but f'd up.
