We'll be lounging at Swank Bar (officially named The Lounge at Steakhouse 55, next to Goofy's Kitchen) from 3pm-7pm. Everyone is invited! Downtown Disney offers 3 hours of free parking for those of you who don't have an AP. This should give everyone plenty of time to come and join in the daytime shenanigans!

For Those Who Have Park Tickets/Non-Blocked AP's/CM Passes & Can Be Out Late - Evening Festivities

We will be departing from Swank Bar somewhere in the 7pm hour to head into DCA to enjoy GLOWfest before the 10:15pm showing of World of Color. iSm and I will be ordering WoC Picnic Lunches earlier in the day for those of you who plan on joining us. The lunches are around $15 a piece and come in 4 varieties. See your options! (http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/general/loadGeneric?genericName=WorldOfColorPicnicsPopUp) If you plan on joining us for WoC, please PM me with your order so we can pick those up for you earlier in the day. (We want to guarantee our seating!) You can pay us back when you arrive. We will be enjoying GLOWfest until 8:40pm, then we will head over to line up for of World of Color. If you plan on attending World of Color with us, please plan on being in DCA by 8:30pm so we can get in line as a group. Also, if you have a poncho you might want to bring that as I'm told you can get wet in the reserved viewing area.

There's a wine bar in the shopping center next to my place called Bacchus Secret Cellar (http://www.bacchussecretcellar.com/index.asp3). I've seen some large groups there at night but in the afternoons it's normally slow. They do tastings and bring in food from the neighboring restaurants too.

What a wine noob I was. I never knew till recently that red wine is NOT supposed to be served at room temperature, but at Cellar temperature of 55 degrees fahrenheit.


So I suggest a popular wine bar (and emporium) named, appropriately, 55 Degree Wine (http://www.55degreewine.com/) in Atwater Village.


I also suggest you just go to Disneyland instead, as I just renewed my AP, but know hardly anyone who still goes to Disneyland.

Since the Main Street Station at Disneyland is about 138 feet above sea level, I am going to guess that all of the viewing locations for WoC are at least 100 feet above sea level. The view from sea level might not be that good.

Maybe there can be a Non-AP "free entry," pre-park something somewhere in DTD or hotels? Would the non-APers be too envious when the AP crowd broke away for picnic fun, Glow-Fest, World of Color and glow-suit Gay Club Remix?

A good many folks would be attending the non-AP portion of the festivities, which are going to conclude around 6pm. You could always pretend you don't have APs.

Looks like I'm going to miss this. I have an AP but don't have and can't swing parking right now for WoC. I just found out my cousin is in town and I am going to be hanging out with her during the day. I could get to the resort around 5 but if it's ending at 6 that's only an hour :(

Is this for sure going to take place at DLR since you are going to the park on Monday or is there a chance you will be finding another wine bar location so everyone can hang out until it's over?

They fly out of LB at 5pm and I haven't seen her in 10 years.

I know it's free but by the time I get there, park and come in you guys will be heading to the park. If I go in the park know I'll be there longer than 5 hours (with validation) but I can't stay until they open the gates to get out for free because it's a school night.

A non-DLR option would have been much more doable but it's K's bday and WoC/DLR is what he wants to do. Bummer, but at least I'll see K on Caturday.

Gotcha, I was just confused about the wine bar comment. No worries. I'm still not clear how a non-DLR thing that started at 4 would be any more "doable" than non-AP DLR thing that starts at 2. But I'm not trying to solicit anyone, just wasn't clear on the concept.


(oh, rumor has it that - since the AP segment might start around 6, the non-AP segment might start around 2 instead of 4.)

It is so worth it to see the 4 seconds of him breathing fire onto the rivers of america. Just something about that that makes me smile and happy. I'd take Murphy over World of Color anyday.

I'm not sure if tonight was the tail end of Keith's birthday festivities, but it felt like it. I was just going to go hang out at the hotel he and O having been sharing since K's birthday on Monday - - and I knew a couple of other people were gonna show up, too. But it turned into a really cool party, with tons of people I was happy to meet and others I'd met before, but really connected with tonight.

K needed a bit of uplifting after events of the last day or so, and I feel he could not have done better than a happy night with the gang of cool peeps and fun times that, well, for all I know are still going on at the Menage hotel.
