Score one for one for causality.
In a stunning turn of events, the memoirs of an Irish soldier, fighting for the Germans, during WWI were recently "discovered" (or, more accurately, "popped into existence due to an alteration of the space time continuum").
The year was 1919, the setting: Munich. 2 politicians were in the barracks of the German Freikorps (Free Corps) attempting to garner votes from the enlisted men. This is when an unidentified time traveler incited a riot. The two politicians were dragged to the floor and were in danger of being kicked to death.
Captain Michael Keogh, author of the memoirs, and unwitting agent of causality, stepped in to preserve the integrity of our timeline. Having been alerted to the fracas he rushed in and ordered his men to fire warning shots over the riotous crowd. This took their attention away long enough to stop kicking the two politicians, allowing the soldiers under Keogh's command to drag them to safety thus saving the live of young mr. Adolf Hitler!!!!
So there you have it, you can't travel back in time to kill Hitler. It just won't work.
