Thanks y'all!
I had a pretty good day on Sunday. It was surprisingly low-ke except for a great story I have to tell. Very good laugh.
I am in Iowa and the first thing my friends who I was staying with on this particular day handed me a box. It was full of Dutch letter pastries from a bakery in Pella (a Dutch town)/ Dutch letters are a traditional pastry baked around Saint Nicholas Day but sold yea-round in this town. So I had a few with my coffee.
Let's skip ahead to after dinner and introducing my friends to my new favorite sitcom, Howe I Met Your Mother the lights go out. There was no party or cake this year (or at least not yet...suspicion runs afoot). Here comes something with a candle in it. As it comes closer I notice it is a Dutch Letter. Probably not the best thing to stick a candle in because Dutch Leters are very fragile. Not to mention there was no plate under it. Big mistake.
As soon as I grabbed it and leaned over to make a wish the Dutch letter (candle and all) fell out of my hands. I knew exactly what to wish for instantly. Fortunately my wish came true because the candle went out before it could do any damage. My friend's two dogs then enjoyed a treat on the floor while we all had a good laugh.
So my Birthday went from Ordinary to LEGEN...wait for it....wait for it....DARY!!!
