Hey gang! I'm finally ready to post my pictures from WDW, and I wondered what people like in the way of a photo sharing site. I'd like ease of use for me, coupled with attractive interface for you. On my first attempt, with flick'r, I ran into capacity issues. Was I doing something wrong? Shutterfly seemed to offer unlimited space, so, of course, I wondered what was the catch? I have lots of pictures, and a couple videos.

Y'know, I used to know how to post a picture from my computer into a thread here. Why can't I figure it out today? I guess you'll have to wait to see that picture of sweet rhino PDA.

Photos have to be hosted somewhere in order to be linked. LoT won't store them for you (it would drive up hosting costs and cause dogs to start sleeping with cats).

I like Photobucke (http://photobucket.com/)t but I'm not a real heavy user of that type of thing. I primarily use it to host the photos I post here.

Flickr or Picasa are what I use. Picasa seems more like a personal storage site to me, even though it does allow to share. I like Flickr's sets and collections feature that lets me organize multiple albums into themes.

Actually - you can attach photos directly using the "Manage Attachment" buttons below the text input screen. Of course, our dogs and cats already sleep together.

Really?

Well I'll be damned (not that I wasn't already). Cool I'll have to start a thread to backup all my photos!

Including...wait for it...MY MOTHER.

But, you knew that. :p

If you care anything about image quality, or more importantly, about any rights to your images, steer away from Facebook.

Any site you post photos to, will have ToS- some of them basically have you allow the host a free license to use your images any way they see fit (including making money off your images).

I personally use Flickr, and SmugMug has good terms as well.

I like Picassa best. Facebook is great for having the widest audience view your pics, but it sucks for actually sharing your photos.

I used to use Smug Mug because I think the photos display there better, but friends have told me the interface for downloading quality versions of photos was way better on Picassa.

On my first attempt, with flick'r, I ran into capacity issues. Was I doing something wrong? No, you weren't. Flickr has a very low limit unless you pay. The fee is nominal and gives you practically infinite space.

Ah. And two of my favorite words, used in just the order I like them! "Nominal," and "Infinite." :D

Still trying to figure out how to post a picture here. I got it to attach a file, thanks GD, but the image was GINORMOUS!!! Which, of course, is lovely for the rhinos, but not so much for us.

Cheese man won't do facebook -- I've talked to him a million times and he refuses. Silly mommy issues ;)

Then again, he twitters and I think I would rather go muff diving than do that.

I think we can both agree on that.

Yes, and I've explained to him that the "Mommy Issues" he is holding on so tightly to are nothing but air, but everyone has to have some sort of delusion. ;)

Oh gawd, haven't heard that term in a while {must be the company I keep?} I did think of it though recently as I chewed out my sons' puppy, calling him a carpet muncher. I went 'hmmmmm....sounds familiar. Oh. Don't do that again.'

Anyways, I use whatever I get deals on. Snapfish has had some great deals as has Shutterfly. Me? I'm signed on to both and receive free photos now and again, even a free photo book here and there.

Speaking of, if any of you have a thought to do a trip review, perhaps on the recent Palm Springs trip, do it through Trip Advisor. I received a voucher for a free photo book from shutterfly for that. If you do it and receive a code, let me know. You do have to pay postage but the books are cool.
