OK - so what's to dread coming up here shortly?

I'm not looking forward to school being out - with the home office, three kids here makes work sometimes....difficult.

That's about all I can think of. Guess my life must be pretty good right now.

My next class. I still have two papers to write for it.

I'm not looking forward to my step-dad spending the night here next Saturday night. He's more annoying and offensive than almost anyone I know.

Which reminds me. I'm not looking forward to seeing my dad next month.

I'm also not looking forward to tomorrow......I'm missing out on the preschool parent meeting tonight and by the flurry of phone calls I've gotten and missed today....it's not going to go well tonight. I'm afraid I might get nominated for a board position, because no one will step up. I've already been suckered into my freaking auction job next year, and not being able to be there tonight to defend my fervent "Hell NO!" position, it's been mentioned that I'll be nominated.

Hell NO! Preschool is NOT life.

This time of year? I 'm not looking forward to exams.

And I'm not looking forward to seeing my grandma for the first time after her stroke. It was years ago, but I've never been out to Florida and she can't travel any more. The pictures I've seen are so gut-wrenching -- she's just skin stretched over bone and all contorted up into a human pretzel and she can't really communicate any more. And I know that must just kill her inside, because the thinking part of her brain is still ALL there and functioning. And she was always the society-type - fashionable and so forth. I need to see her before she dies, but it will be sad.

I'm not looking forward to Kat's cheer tryouts..even though I said I was! I'm not sure I can deal with her not dealing with not making it if she doesn't...I think it might break my heart! This will be the first thing she's ever gone after full-force...ie: extra practices, sacrifices, etc...and she's only 8! So little...I just want to smush her in a bubble and keep her this way!

I'm not looking forward to tomorrows Dr appt...it's a "womanly" appt! Urgh! New Dr..which means I'll have to explain my whole life's medical history in 5 minutes!

I'm especially not looking forward to working the Saturday of my and GD's birthday weekend.

Trying to find a summer job.

Pulling my son out of private school since I won't be able to work in the fall. (It's fine, our neighborhood school is fine, it's just a bummer.)

Putting gas in my car this week-yikes! I need to find a summer job close to home, I guess.

Cleaning my house. Lord knows it must get done. The place is a shambles and I plan on spending Sunday doing it but after this, I'm getting a maid

I'm not looking forward to moving Saturday and missing the NFL draft. It'll be the first draft in at least a decade that I don't spend the day drinking beer and eating BBQ with my brothers.

I'm not looking forward to having to find a new place to live in 9 weeks.

I'm not looking forward to what my car repairs are going to cost me today.

Gah. I forgot that I have to go to the dentist tomorrow. The good news is that hopefully my teeth will stop hurting. But I'm not looking forward to damn dental anethesia which makes me sick.

The way so many teams are trading down, it looks like it's going to be a very weak draft anyway...........now moving, be it on draft day or not, that just plain bites.

I'm not looking forward to what my car repairs are going to cost me today.

I just have to share this update. My car was in need of some serious repairs. Most importantly, I needed new rotors and front brakes. The estimate I got from my local service station was $370. Also, my "Service Engine Soon" light came on last week. I asked them about that and they said they would diagnose it for another $75.

Well, these prices all seemed pretty steep so I called around a bit today. After being told prices in the $350-$400 range, I found a place in the phone book that said "Exact Quotes over the phone". I called and they said "$280" for the brakes and rotors. I took the car there. Everyone was very friendly and the car was ready exactly when they said it would. When I picked it up, (and this is a first for me) the counter person said, "The parts weren't as expensive as we thought so it will only be $260, including tax. Then, as I started to pay with cash, he said, "Oh, we offer a 5% discount for paying by cash." I saved even more money. THEN, when I drove away, I noticed that the "Service Engine Soon" light wasn't on. I looked at my paperwork and it turns out they diagnosed it and fixed the problem for free.

These people will have my business from now on. What I wasn't looking forward to turned out to be not so bad. I hope that is the case with what everyone has posted. Maybe it won't be as bad as you are expecting. :)

Awesome MBC!!! Where was this? PM me if you don't want to post. I'm always in the market for a good place to take my car.

Thank you for specifically violating the pessimistic intention of this thread. You have ruined my day because your dread didn't turn out as bad as you thought. :p

OK - I guess it's alright and I'm happy for you.

You are absolutely right, scaeagles. My bad.

I'm not looking forward to the rest of Bush's term. I don't think things are going to get any better, and the only thing that will surprise me is if he doesn't continue to screw things up more. It will take years and years to repair the damage he has done. He is running the country into the ground just like everything else he has ever led.

Hopefully, my pessimism concerning his utter lack of leadership will be just what this thread needs. ;)

I am not looking forward to another storm -- supposedly rain returning tonight. Enough already! We are invited to two First Communions this weekend. Both receptions are supposed to take place outdoors. My nephew's celebration in on Sunday and I feel bad for him and my sister who has been busy planning a beautiful outdoor party. Well, at least there is an overhang. What a lovely thought -- all of us huddled under an overhang staring at the rain. :(

I'm not looking forward to the first of three, three-hour essay exams signalling the end of spring semester. Actually, I'm not looking forward to any of them, but today I'm specifically not looking forward to my civil procedure exam.

I'm not looking forward to going to the dentist tomorrow. The last of my fillings are coming out and being replaced with inlays. They are doing a whopping 3 teeth this time. Ugh! I hate this stuff.

I'm not looking forward to the jealousy I will feel towards anyone who will be at the park on Thursday while I'm at work and then the dentist.
