Wishing everyone on LoT a wonderful holiday and long weekend. Everyone on LoT not celebrating the holiday, hope you have a faboo day, too.

If you're traveling, happy trails and safe journey. If you're cooking, don't cut yourself carving the bird. If you're eating, pace yourself and prepare for leftovers.

Menu Chez Snowflake:

Poached pears with gorgonzola and walnuts
Dungeness Crab and garlic butter
Champagne

if still hungry (likely not) food for the long weekend

Roast Chicken
Dressing with sausage and mushrooms
Roasted butternut squash
Steamed green beans

Pumkin pie with whipped cream

Alka seltzer!

I've come to the realization that, regardless whether you are hosting 3 or 30, the holiday meal prep takes just about as much time and effort.

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm heading out to Riverside, and then Moreno Valley. Mom's at noon for a Thanksgiving meal for 3, and then dad's at 4 for a group of 10 or so. My mom's making a turkey and a prime rib, with all the fixin's. For 3 people! I said, "Are you trying to kill me?" Her answer, "Not until you pay me back the money you owe me." Funny, funny mom. So far, my dad hasn't threatened me with not-death, and I owe him a failed business' worth of money.

If anyone's an orphan today, call me. You're invited. I *think* there will be plenty of food.

Looking forward to the annual listening of Alice's Restaurant. If you are in the LA area, KLOS (95.5) plays it at Noon.

Well, even if you aren't in the LA area, they are still going to play it.

And in case you couldn't tell: not safe for work.

My "I'm thankful for..." cup runneth over this year. Thanks!

Now, a Thanksgiving message from William S Burroughs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4nSxArk9g8&feature=player_embedded)

The eating has ceased, the leftovers have been squeezed into the fridge, the dishes are (mostly) done, and mother has been safely deposited back home. I've changes into my bathrobe, and I am about to start the stupor phase of Thanksgiving.

Hope everyone had a good one!

Same here, only ALL of the dishes are done, my mom AND my aunt have both been deposited, and the turkey carcas has been boiled for stock for turkey soup.

Oh, and I made Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Maple Cinnamon Sage Brown Butter. It was great! Except my daughter likened it to Cinnabon

Time to become lathargic...
