Who uses it?

Just curious (seems to be differing opinions on it here at the office).

I can't even get Outlook to open on my computer.

So, not me.

I love the reading pane.

But then, I have a ginormous monitor at work, so the pane can take up enough screen real estate to be useful while still leaving plenty of room for all of the other visual elements of Outlook.

What I don't use is auto-preview. It just clutters up the message list.

Bottom, emails automatically marked as read once displayed in the pane for 5 seconds. I get a couple hundred work emails a day, if I actually had to open them to know which ones I could ignore I'd go nuts.

I use it (Outlook at work, Thunderbird at home). Love it.

I just use it at work, and I love it. Love it on bottom (yes, I'm still talking about Outlook), taking up about half the screen.

I wish GMail would have something like that ... or do they?

Ditto.

My monitor is large and in charge. I use it for the same reasons as Alex... to know which to ignore.

Pane on the right.

I wish GMail would have something like that ... or do they? There is a feature you can enable in Google Labs that lets you preview a message by right clicking on it.

preview pane is critical for me, i get hundreds of emails a day at work, use it to quickly absorb and delete info and keep from 'marking as read' those that require more thoughtful review and reply.

Is that a beverage? and we never tried it ????Trust me: you do NOT want to try Thunderbird liquor. It is a favorite of the desperate/homeless. It is cheap and nasty.

Though Napa Rose does keep a bottle of it in their wine cellar

Do not drink it! Once a friend brought some to dinner as a joke, the bottle tipped over and some splashed on my hand, took the nail polish right off!

Thunderbird took off your *nail polish*???? Wow. I knew it was bad, but wow. I'm not even sure how that's chemically possible.

We used to drink Spanada (cheap red that tastes like hangover) and its white counterpoint that has a name I can't remember.

I had never heard of Spanada (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3qzCQZLR-E). Our liquor of choice as a young teenager (like, just barely in my teens) was Schlitz Malt Liquor. Later, when I became 'sophisticated' in my early twenties, I drank Sutter Home White Zinfandel. I remember believing that certain years were better than others

What was the original topic of this thread again?

I drank Arbor Mist. I was soooo cool.

Outlook is work related. Some days work would be better with a few drinks. Therefore this thread is totally on topic.

There's a certain irony to that Thunderbird picture having a Sierra Nevada glass in the background
