With pitchers and catchers reporting tomorrow, it seems as good a time as any to kick off this year's baseball thread.
Personally, I just want to see the Dodgers kick the crap out of the Giants on opening day, then we'll take it from there. Hopefully, Mattingly won't be an utter failure. Hopefully, Broxton will return to form, along with Ethier and Kemp. And, if those things don't happen, hopefully the McCourts will be run out of town.
Thoughts? Predictions? Let's talk baseball!

Interesting article in today's LA Times (http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-0216-dodgers-spring-training-20110216,0,4607098.story) on the prospects for the season.
Umm don't suck quite so bad Nationals! That's sad when that's the best you can hope for.
I haven't been keeping up on the news, but I just checked and it looks like you won't get Strasburg back until September (http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110210&content_id=16611956&vkey=news_was&fext=.jsp&c_id=was).
2011 probably won't be anything to get too excited about for the Nationals but if Strasburg comes back as good as he was 2012 has a lot of potential.
I'm expecting continued mediocrity from the A's, but hopefully I'll get to more than one game this year.

Back to back, baby!
Please no. I have a friend who still occasionally will rewatch his recording of the last game of the World Series. If they win again he'll update that, but I like the thought of it becoming increasingly pathetic as time goes on and he still watches that one game over and over.

Yeah, like the Nats will still have a shot at anything by September....
If they do bring him back this season it will be on a very limited trial bases for a few innings here or there.

.
The scuttlebutt seems to be he's done. You just don't come back from this type of surgery as strong as you once were. Oh he will still be a good pitcher perhaps but his days as a phenom are over. However if he want's to prove me wrong on that I'll happily eat crow.

Apparently, upon arriving to spring training, Miguel Cabrera (http://www.cnn.com/2011/SPORT/02/17/cabrera.dui/index.html?hpt=T2) decided to celebrate just a little too much.
