Android's track your every move then sends the info back to Google.


an HTC Android phone collected its location every few seconds and transmitted the data to Google at least several times an hour. It also transmitted the name, location and signal strength of any nearby Wi-Fi networks, as well as a unique phone identifier.

Google declined to comment on the findings.


And here I was feeling all smug (http://www.loungeoftomorrow.com/LoT/showthread.php?t=11073) about not having a iPhone.

Score one for Palm. As I recall when setting up our phones, the Palm Pre explicitly said it was going to do that and gave you the option of turning it off.
