When it's your turn to go through the passenger scan (a thermal body scan), you may be verbally accosted by a security droid

Is WDW showing a true thermal scan of guests, or is it (as I expect) just an effect?

MousePlanet and MousePad are very slow because of the link.

The one at Disneyland appears to be using actual footage of people in line (there is a very obvious camera at the beginning of the line. The output image itself did not, to my untrained eye, look like any sort of actual thermal imaging, it looked liked like the live video sent through a pretty visual filter.
