Haven't. Just set a recording though. Took me a bit to find it, somehow I expected it to be on TLC or Bravo, not Lifetime

It's been on Lifetime for the last couple of seasons.

Okay, there seem to be a couple people with skills. Based on the "road to the runway show", I think I'm pulling for the Carribbean chick, but still have to catch up on the first official episode.

No TV here. I wonder if it's on Hulu?

Hmm... really liked what the older guy did with his boxers. (Oh god, that's going to end up on quotes, isn't it?)
Some really bad fit issues in that first episode. Amazingly, the girl who's just learned to sew managed better fit than a lot of the more experienced designers.
Don't know what that one guy was thinking trying to do a pintuck down the length of tight pants on a knit fabric. That was just begging to look all uneven.

I wished that the judges had auffed the bottom three all at once.
Bert (the Peach of this season) did well. It looked far better on his model than the mannequin. I like Olivier (he seems to be the Christian Siriano of the season).
Still hard to tell at this point, too many people we've seen almost nothing of.
It was good to see Mondo and Laura during the preview doing some judging of the contestants.

I'm still surprised at how many fit issues I saw. I thought the judges would be ALL OVER them for that. They did get on a few of them, but man... if you can't get the fit right people... why are you doing a trouser??

This is the first season we've committed to actually watching while it happens.
Though I do enjoy the show in reruns and enjoyed the premiere, I was instantly reminded of why it took me so long to accept that I like it. I HATED Bert's design. I can see that the mix of fabrics in the waistline was interesting, but otherwise I thought the shape was seriously unattractive, or maybe I couldn't get past the orange check? Whatever it was, though I often do agree with what the judges are saying, I know I'll never be a true fashionista.

Don't know about Hulu, but they've got full episodes on the lifetime site.

Hulu redirects to Lifetime, so by plugging a laptop into the TV we were able to watch.

I love Project Runway and am very happy it is on again. I don't have a strong favorite yet, but the girl who did the barfing clown dress was my favorite for this round.
It looks like, from the previews, that the Alcoholic and the Testicular Cancer survivor are paired for a team challenge. That should make for some fireworks.

Well that was a strong reminder that the show is about fashion, not about clothing art.
I really came to respect Josh in the end. He's got a vision, and he executes that vision. It's utterly unique, it's completely creative. It's still...difficult to love, but it is impressive. And it's art. It's not fashion, in the marketable sense. Yes, runway allows for, and requires, a certain amount of pure art over wearable fashion, but his stuff is pure art. Which is awesome, but I understand why they wouldn't want him to win.
Honestly, all 4 of them put together beautiful collections. A case could have convincingly been made for any of them.
And while Anya's collection was utterly safe for her, during the season she clearly showed she is more than capable of designing beyond her comfort zone and there is something to be said for the fact that, familiar and repetitive or not, in two days she crapped out a STUNNING collection of clothing on nothing but her gut. No amount of sewing lessons or fashion experience can hold a candle to the completely natural and instinctual eye for pattern and movement that girl has. That's what won it for her.
All in all, aside from the judges' inexplicable love affair with Burt's boring-ass clothes, it was a great season.

I'm kind of worried for Anya's career going forward. Seems that if she's not given specific inspiration she just defaults to Caribbean. I hope she is forced into doing new things somehow. I loved her more fashion forward styles much more than her signature stuff. She's got an incredible eye for working with pattern, but I can't really get into the crazy flowy dresses.

The Caribbean fashion may be a niche market, but she does it exquisitely. Other fashion designers have done quite well catering to niche markets. I have a feeling she will too.

I dunno, I really thought of the remaining designers, Viktor was my pick. Those fabric he created were fabulous and the piece he made with it were also great. Fashion and constructed well. Why he chose to second guess and toss half his collection is anyone's guess and hurt him in the end.
Anya, the beachwear chic was her point of view and she did put things together beautifully. I'm sorry in the end it was johnny one note for me. Same thing over and over all through the competitions. I doubt she sewed much in those last 2 days, not much to sew if you ask me. 3 seams at most and fabric tape to hold in the boobage (if there were any). Clearly, Heidi and the judges loved her, I just don't see the "range" or "variety" they're always complaining about.
Joshua was mega annoying as a personality. He had vision and pulled together a cohesive collection that I appreciated, but OMG those shorts! Eeek!
Overall, of the past PR, this season was the weakest for me. If you catch any of the old PR from Bravo, the designers were called upon for much more good work. Less really stupid challenges (stilts? Run around the track to make Heidi's gym clothes, etc.).
I'm looking forward to the All-Stars version, however.

She didn't often display range, but when she did it was amazing. Do you remember the raven dress? That was jaw dropping, easily my favorite piece of the whole season, and well outside her comfort zone.
Viktor was solid, he could have easily won it. But he definitely blew it in the final. Really lost his head. But I'm kinda glad he did because while his stuff was always clearly well designed and well put together, it mostly bored me.
ETA: Except for this one. This one was awesome.

I agree. The judges loved his original pieces. If he hadn't replaced half of them with the peek-a-boo bondage stuff he would have won.

Yes, I do remember it, stunning.
My heart and mind were still with Viktor for the win and he blew it.

I was definitely pulling for Viktor. Overall he had the best stuff. He just blew the end stage of the competition. But I think he has the brightest future. The drama queen, IMHO didn't have much in the way of taste, even if he did have a vision. I can't believe he made the final, I think they kept him in for the drama.
