Well it's Halloweentime Once Again, my lovelies. ;)

It almost goes without saying, but with less than a week to go - I'll just say it - if you've been to an El Mio Halloween, you are permanently and perpetually invited to El Mio Halloween. The people who live in the old Victorian don't have your email addresses and aren't your facebook friends - but you're still most welcome even without having been individually invited.

At this point, you may or may not have plans for the big party night of this year's Halloween Season, namely, Saturday, October 29, 2011 - and I haven't heard of anything the LoT crew are doing for Halloween this year (though perhaps I'm being snubbed) ... but for any who have the evening free and are looking for some Halloween Party fun, El Mio's doors and open arms await.

This year's official costume theme is Modern Life is Rubbish - meaning anything historical prior to 1950.

The setting of this year's El Mio party - to pick an historical year at random - is 1887 ... conveniently the year the old Victorian El Mio was built!

As usual, come in costume suited to the theme - or not! More than any other year I can remember, this is the loosest theme we've had (oh look, the house is cleverly disguised as an 1887 Victorian at Halloween!!) - so feel free to don any costume you please.

And if it pleases you, and you have the evening or part of it free - you are reminded of your standing invitation to the annual El Mio Halloween Party.

If you can't remember how to get there, feel free to PM me or otherwise contact me for information.

As a special treat, the cast of Spider-Baby, the Musical! will be doing a reading / informalish performance of the indy hit rock musical, based on the ultra-low-budget 1960's cult horror film, Spider Baby - which was filmed AT EL MIO!!

:snap: The Ninth Annual El Mio Halloween - 1887 or anything historical for Halloween 2011. :snap:

How can you resist the lure of Spider Baby The Musical! LIVE at the set where the movie it's based on was filmed!?!

Maybe this clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zIKaDi-iW9s) from the movie will whet your appetite for thrills, fun and adventure at El Mio!

Is that the guy that used to play Jack Benny's butler? Sounds like the right voice...

Looks like Mantan Moreland to me. (I'm sure I spelled his name wrong)

So sad I can't make it. I'm sure it will be as amazing as always.

Heheh, I don't know about amazing (we're throwing this one together in 1 week - hence the clever 1887 Victorian Halloween decorating theme), but it will surely be fun! Sorry you can't make it. It's a heck of a trip north for most people on the LoT (you most certainly of all).

Here's (http://www.historyorb.com/events/date/1887) a page of events that happened in 1887, several very good inspirations!

I can't throw together anything Halloween with a week's notice. I can't throw it together with 3 week's notice! Such is my life lately.

As someone who usually plans their events for months in advance, I have to say that throwing this together in a week is refreshingly spontaneous and kinda fun. :)

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow!

I'm so sorry that in throwing this together at the last minute (I've been involved behind the scenes on this one for precisely 6 days), I neglected to send out private invitations or post this wider than on the LoT (say, for instance, d'uh, to the LoT facebook group).

In any event, if I can put a party together in a week, anyone can put a costume together in a day! :p

Which is just my way of saying if you don't have any plans, and are looking for some Halloweeny fun on the Saturday night of Halloweekend, there's ALWAYS* El Mio!

* um, at least for another year. 2012 will the Big Tenth Anniversary Party - and there's no word yet on whether the decade of El Mio Halloween will continue further into the 21st century.

... And that's pretty much what mine's gonna be, LOL ;)

Well, hahaha, no one from the LoT, or previously on LoT, made it to El Mio this year after all.

Sorry you missed. It was a wonderfully happy party .... spectacularly serenaded by a live musical performance by the cast of Spider-Baby the Musical that made the night stand out amazingly among the best of El Mio.

AND ... we're going to try and make next year's Tenth Anniversary Party very spectacular indeed. Invites will be coming more pointedly and earlier than this thrown-together year - but here's your first notice. It's gonna be grand.
