In yet another variation of the interview thread, I thought it might be nice to ask some interview questions to everyone, because I realize, in reading some of the interviews thus far, that I'd like to hear more people's answers to each question. Perspectives, yadda yadda.
So I offer to you: the free-for-all interview. I will supply a series of questions. You may choose to answer any number of them. You may, also, choose to add another question to the pool, and the next person may choose from any of the combinations, and so on.
1) How did you make the leap into message boardom? How did you make the leap into this particular community of people? Did you lurk? Was there a topic that pushed you over the line so that you could no longer hold your tongue? Who was the first person you talked to? Met?
2) What do you crave?
3) We started from Disney-based boards and migrated here. So if you're here, you probably either enjoy Disney, or know somebody who enjoys Disney. What is your favorite memory from a Disney park?
4) What are your opinions on touch? Who was the last person you touched?
5) What brings you relief? A person? A place? An idea? An object? An activity?

3) favorite Disney memory
The first time I went to the park with my husband, we weren't yet engaged. He proposed on the top deck of the Mark Twain, right before the fireworks. But that's not my favorite memory.
My favorite memory comes from one of the first days of the trip as we entered the park. It wasn't first thing in the morning so we'd given up hope of making it through the throngs of kids to see any characters. We were going to go to Toontown to see Mickey later on because we wanted to make sure we got to see him. My husband adores Mickey Mouse and has since he was little. I've heard the tape recording where he's two and won't talk to the recorder until they ask him to say "Mickey."
Anyhow, as we were heading down Main Street we spied Mickey over outside the Opera House. I suggested we go see him, since I knew how much Ryan wanted to see Mickey. He declined, because he wanted it to be "special" by seeing him in Toontown -- and didn't want to be disappointed by pushy parents cutting in line and Mickey having to leave because it was break time.
But I won that "discussion" and we stood in line. And we were the last ones to see Mickey before his break. I had my picture taken with him, as did my husband. And if you look at his photo, you can almost see the eyes welling up and the lip starting to quiver.
Because after Mickey left, as we were walking down Main Street, I happened to glance over and Ryan's face was beet red and he had an odd expression. I asked if he needed to sit down, and he nodded. We sat over to the side on a bench while my husband, the former Marine, tattoos all over, absolutely bawled with joy because he had finally met his childhood hero.

What is your favourite memory from a Disney Park?
So many, but a particular favourite is from my trip last year. Each night my sister, brother, bf and I would stay in DL until closing, doing rides, eatting churros and basically just soaking up the atmosphere. Then we'd grab a hot chocolate at closing time and walk back to the hotel. Happy times:)
What's your favorite thing to do in San Francisco?
I like catching the cable cars. Fisherman's Wharf is not my favourite place in SF, but getting there is so much fun. I love travelling through the neighbourhoods, imagining what it's like to live there, catching the most breathtaking views. It's great.
Question: Who was your first love?

I'll take #1 for $20 dollars....hehehe
I joined in on the message boardom over at MP. I was amazed that I happened upon MP through an internet search and saw that an old school pal was a writer on the website! So I hung around. I was a lurker for over a year before I ever joined. MA was the topic I jumped into, having just completed our 2nd MA. Yes I didn't post there before being in a 2nd MA! I'm am now a regular on at least 4 boards and I moderate on one of them. I still lurk on a few others.
This community? I lurked for a bit, I was invited to come over from elsewhere via PM, but just looked around. I finally jumped in on GD's "What are your Lounging habits?" thread my 1st post here (http://www.xenarchy.com/LoT/showpost.php?p=4003&postcount=40).
People? I have seen some of you at MA's but I'm far to shy to actually walk up and meet people.

5) What brings you relief? A person? A place? An idea? An object? An activity?
Trite but true: Coming home to my husband. I have no idea what it means to live alone, but from this POV, I can't imagine life being half worth it without him. I can't exactly nail down why it's such a relief to just sit next to him and lay a head on his shoulder, but it is. Perhaps it's the idea of not having to take on the burdens of existance alone.

1) How did you make the leap into message boardom? How did you make the leap into this particular community of people? Did you lurk? Was there a topic that pushed you over the line so that you could no longer hold your tongue? Who was the first person you talked to? Met?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. DAMN you, Joss Whedon, for creating a show so compelling I had to seek out complete strangers (with names like Xander’s Woman and Mad Poetess for goodness’ sake!) with whom I could discuss your television show. I lurked for about a week before finally posting. I have no idea who I interacted with first, but the first real tete-a-tete I had influenced my decision to move back to Los Angeles (based on how adoringly he described the city), and we eventually met, liked each other, and we still hang out in person. Also, I met six of my closet lady friends (you included, of course) on that friggin' board.
2) What do you crave?
- Something of interest to ponder to the point of obsession.
- Novelty in fiction.
- A soundtrack to my life.
- Bread.
-Imaginary men.
3) We started from Disney-based boards and migrated here. So if you're here, you probably either enjoy Disney, or know somebody who enjoys Disney. What is your favorite memory from a Disney park?
My first ride on Space Mountain.
4) What are your opinions on touch? Who was the last person you touched?
I think stroking is soothing, feeling is educational, handling is best done carefully, fingering should only be attempted with meticulously manicured nails, contact can be sporting, tapping is annoying, laying a hand on can be healing, patting can be reassuring or (see tapping), and joining can be good fun, cheerio pip-pip, mind boggling divine, so-so-okay and whatever, thoroughly disappointing, and sometimes even humiliating.
Or, sometimes touch is just plain disgusting. I was the last person I touched and it was, I must agree with myself, disgusting. I hate wiping. I think all bathrooms in America should be equipped with bidets.
5) What brings you relief? A person? A place? An idea? An object? An activity?
- Nape of the neck kisses.
- Butt massages
- Stories
- My parent’s house
- Earl Grey Tea
- Stretching, even though I rarely do this, when I do I realize how much better it makes me feel.
- Escaping to a private space to release a little stink bird after being in public and having to hold it in. Fly, little warbling pee-ew, fly!

1) How did you make the leap into message boardom? How did you make the leap into this particular community of people? Did you lurk? Was there a topic that pushed you over the line so that you could no longer hold your tongue? Who was the first person you talked to? Met?
-Man, I've been around almost forever. I first met the then-ADDers at Rod's piano, where they used to have a Sunday evening meet (yes, along with the noon meets). Through them, I got involved in alt.disney.disneyland. Sadly, there were a few trolls (Cander, jon nadelberg (now uses jonvn)) who ruined the fun by turning everything into a flame war. This inspired many regular ADDers running their own Disney sites to try to band together. They did, and the result was Mouseplanet. Mousepad became my new net home for the next few years until the infamous NA-banning event. Since most of the people I liked to talk to were heading off, I headed off with them (not that I didn't try to stay active on MP, just wasn't very interesting anymore) to Fab's site. Ah yes, which was moderated by none other than jonvn. When that time bomb eventually went off (as I'd predicted), a few Fabbers started their own boards, this being one of them.
2) What do you crave?
-Chocolate, but only around my period.
3) We started from Disney-based boards and migrated here. So if you're here, you probably either enjoy Disney, or know somebody who enjoys Disney. What is your favorite memory from a Disney park?
-Huh? Isn't that like choosing your favorite child?
4) What are your opinions on touch? Who was the last person you touched?
-I'm a very huggy sort of person (no, not the diapers you perv). Last person I touched would be Gaucho... I probably kicked him sometime in the night as I was getting up to vomit.
5) What brings you relief? A person? A place? An idea? An object? An activity?
-Getting a new job will bring me relief. Walking down Main Street usually brings me relief.
6) What do your dinner plates look like?
-Hand me downs... ironically, both my mother and my dad's new wife owned sets of them... mom's were mostly destroyed in the Northridge earthquake, but my collection is an amalgamation of her's and my stepmom's. http://www.rsfavorites.com/dinnerware/blue-peony-dinner-plate-21246.html
7) You're going to be on Survivor next season; what is your luxury item?
Sunblock - I burn big time.
8) What nicknames have you had over the years? How'd they come about?
-Peaches, Goon, Cid, and the finnish word for sunshine, which I've forgotten
9) What's your favorite thing to do in San Francisco?
leave. J/K. Umm.... dim sum. No no wait... Carnelian Room. Awww yeeeeah.

I just went for them all and tried to get to it before there were any more questions. ;)
1) How did you make the leap into message boardom? How did you make the leap into this particular community of people? Did you lurk? Was there a topic that pushed you over the line so that you could no longer hold your tongue? Who was the first person you talked to? Met?
Chris was lurking, I jumped right in and signed up for the first MP potluck. First post was about Space Mountain. The first person I both talked to in a PM and met in person was Fej/Uber. That was fate.
2) What do you crave?
Chocolate or Red Vines
3) We started from Disney-based boards and migrated here. So if you're here, you probably either enjoy Disney, or know somebody who enjoys Disney. What is your favorite memory from a Disney park?
It is impossible to choose one. I would have to pick a minimum of 5.
4) What are your opinions on touch? Who was the last person you touched?
I love to be touched. I am a very touchy person and will show my affection to those I love. However, if you're standing in line behind me and are touching me in any way, watch out. I get very protective of my space in those situations.
5) What brings you relief? A person? A place? An idea? An object? An activity?
My Chiropractor, deep breathing, sex.
6) What do your dinner plates look like?
Plain white.
7) You're going to be on Survivor next season; what is your luxury item?
I would never be caught alive on survivor. If I was there, I would require a coffin or funeral pyre.
8) What nicknames have you had over the years? How'd they come about?
Not too many.......Buttercup (Mom), Lisa Librarian (punk rock name when wearing glases), Dementia Praecox (LA Punk Rock Name from Suddenly Last Summer).
9) What's your favorite thing to do in San Francisco?
Sheesh. So many things to do! I love driving down the road to Fort Point and pretending I'm in a Hitchcock film. I love to go to City Light Books. I love North Beach Pizza. I love the bath shops in the Castro. I love going to Green Gultch Farm. Oh, I'm sure there's lots more..........
10) Toilet paper roll - over or under?
Over
11) What is your most memorable vacation (at any point in life that you can remember)? Where did you go? Who were you with? What did you do? Why is it so memorable?
I have traveled quite a bit and had many adventures. I've been to all buy 7 US States and will be visiting my 10th country and 4th continent in June. But, what immediately comes to mind is a car trip Chris and I took through California. We went on an adventure with only 2 scheduled stops. The rest of the time we just went where we felt like it. We went across the state from Hwy 395 to Gualala on the coast in the straightest route we could come up with. Sometimes that meant driving on dirt roads through dangerous pot-growing regions. It was a blast. I have always adored road trips and adventures, but this was was so relazing and it was incredible to spend such quality time with my husband alone. If we wern't going to Japan, I'd be pushing for another road trip.

I think the first message board I posted at was regarding raving. I hung there for a bit but before I could get heavily involved the site was bought out by a humongous rave board including stuff from all around the world. There were WAY too many people there and very few from my own locale. I had no interest in this bloated monstrosity of a "community" mainly because raving very different in each locale.
I only showed up at MP because I was looking for Disneyland info. I wasn't looking for friends. I sure as hell didn't expect a life-altering moment when I came up with the name "Cadaverous Pallor" so I'd fit in with these geeks. You know, I had to go read the spiel online to try come up with a name? It didn't take me long to feel the need to articulate my thoughts - big surprise there. I probably lurked for two weeks, if that.

I was looking up Disney info one night and followed the trail to MousePlanet. I read there for awhile and was there when the Pad went live. I lurked for a few days, registered, gathered up courage to post and it's history. The first people I met were the Rallys (rallymonkey and his wife) at a Walts b-day meet.
2) What do you crave?
Chipotle, chocolate, lobster, salt (not all at once)
Good music, good books, quiet times, fun times
6) What do your dinner plates look like?

1) How did you make the leap into message boardom? How did you make the leap into this particular community of people? Did you lurk? Was there a topic that pushed you over the line so that you could no longer hold your tongue? Who was the first person you talked to? Met?
I recently acquired an AP and read an article about the opening of DCA quoting Al Lutz and referencing Mouse Planet. After a few weeks I discovered they have a message board. I think I started posting right away, but rather infrequently. I of course never thought I’d be meeting people on the internet, so I was surprised when Not Afraid signed us up for the Pot Luck, not sure who I met first, probably Fej or Morigoon. But I mostly remember being disappointed that GD & CD weren’t Goths.
2) What do you crave?
Peanut Butter
Sex
Good Company
(not necessarily in that order)
3) We started from Disney-based boards and migrated here. So if you're here, you probably either enjoy Disney, or know somebody who enjoys Disney. What is your favorite memory from a Disney park?
My 40th Birthday was pretty good – I think you can still read about it over at MP (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=4030)
4) What are your opinions on touch? Who was the last person you touched?
I enjoy touch and texture very much but was raised in a non-touching household, so I often feel awkward or self-conscious when I initiate touch. Touch is very intimate for me, so it’s hard for me to be casual about touch.
5) What brings you relief? A person? A place? An idea? An object? An activity?
A long car trip
The beach, in the middle of the night
Sex
Sleep
(Again, not necessarily in that order)
6) What do your dinner plates look like?
Just like Not Afraid’s
7) You're going to be on Survivor next season; what is your luxury item?
A yacht
8) What nicknames have you had over the years? How'd they come about?
Tin – to distinguish from Tiffer – the other Chris
Twist – to my good friend's Crawl, who I will visit in Tokyo
Ian – Community College name change because I could
Punk Hitler – What some people called me in college
Devo Fag – What some people called me in High School
C – What some of my employees called me
Pappy – What one of my employees called me when I was going to be a father
Sea Monkey, That Guy, Euro Monkey, Churo Monkey – Disney Boards
9) What's your favorite thing to do in San Francisco?
Walk through the neighborhoods, grab a bite to eat, and browse books and other merchandise
9.5) Question: Who was your first love?
Valerie de la Fortrie – she was French
10) Toilet paper roll - over or under?
Over
11) What is your most memorable vacation (at any point in life that you can remember)? Where did you go? Who were you with? What did you do? Why is it so memorable?
Peru, with Not Afraid, we went to see Halley’s Comet, but were mesmerized by the Amazon jungle 50 miles outside of Iquitos. Nothing prepared me for the humidity, the insects, and the incredible symphony of sounds created by the seen and unseen wildlife.
12. Where have you always wanted to travel to but haven't been there yet?
India, Iceland, Ireland - I seem to be stuck on the "I"s

And now for the others:
1) message boardom -- I remember being little and having the acoustic modem to connect to boards. Then later on there was this new thing called Prodigy. Then there were regular Cit+ BBSes. MP was my first "web" board.
2) chocolate or cheddar and sour cream chips, depending on the day. And spaghetti-os. And sleeping in on a rainy morning with my beloved Boris kitty next to me.
4) honestly, a lot of the time touch is painful to me. I don't know why. Sometimes it physically hurts to wear clothes. At the same time, I crave closeness and snuggles. (Guess that part belonged above.)
5) A great session of singing, knowing that my voice was on. Dancing from my soul. Coming home from vacation and seeing my Borisey-Worisey roll over and show me his belly. The first pee of the morning.
6) Wedgwood Tuscany Collection (http://www.dinnerwaredepot.com/shop/catalog/handler~event~familySelected~pf_id~2534.htm)
7) My husband.
8) Mostly people either call me by my given name or Prudence. In the 5th grade, my teacher called me Zobi-Wan Kenobi, which got shortened to Zobie. And then sometimes lengthened to Zobi-Wan Phanubaloophus. My husband calls me princess.
9) Folsom Street Fair.
10) Over. Although frankly I'm happy anytime someone other than me manifests the ability to change the role.
11) Dunno. I always think the next one's going to be the best.
12) I want to go everywhere.

1) How did you make the leap into message boardom? How did you make the leap into this particular community of people? Did you lurk? Was there a topic that pushed you over the line so that you could no longer hold your tongue? Who was the first person you talked to? Met?
I had a friend named Napsto, and one day while we were away at a camp he told me he "missed" some people whose names sounded like cartoon characters to me. He told me all about MousePlanet and MousePad and when I got home, I lurked a bit, then jumped in. So I guess technically, the first person I talked to/met was Napsto.
2) What do you crave?
Wood Ranch BBQ (http://www.woodranch.com/), Pat and Oscar's (http://www.breadstick.com/), Ketel 1 Tonics, brownie sundaes.
3) We started from Disney-based boards and migrated here. So if you're here, you probably either enjoy Disney, or know somebody who enjoys Disney. What is your favorite memory from a Disney park?
There was one day, probably over three years ago, where my ex and I and four or five of our friends spent the day at Dland and DCA....it was just one of those days where all was right with the world, you know?
4) What are your opinions on touch? Who was the last person you touched?
Touch is good. Not sure who the last person I touched was though.... a coworker, a random stranger, maybe.....
5) What brings you relief? A person? A place? An idea? An object? An activity?
Being done with a big project brings me great relief. Confirmation is tomorrow night...and I'll be VERY relieved when it's over.
6) What do your dinner plates look like?
They're off white, with green and blue....I got them at Target like eight years ago, and I STILL love them.
7) You're going to be on Survivor next season; what is your luxury item?
A ticket off the island.
8) What nicknames have you had over the years? How'd they come about?
Oh crap.....way too many to list....um, Heatho, Hedda, MickeyD (really), Big Mac, Mayor McCheese, Bitch, Georgina, Grace, Gimpy, Deather, Princess (not in a nice way), Silver Spoon, Kether, Sally (as in Mustang, also for a part I used to play in a skit at camp every year), Drunk, Lush, tons more...those are just the ones off the top of my head.
9) What's your favorite thing to do in San Francisco?
Heh. Well, apparently my favorite thing to do in San Francisco is get completely smashed at a bar, then pass out at a concert at the "Historic" Filmore theater. Cuz I've only been there once, and that's what I did.... If I went to SF again, I'd probably take in a game at SBC park....or really do anything that involved less drinking and less passing out.
10) Toilet paper roll - over or under?
Honestly, I don't care....either way!
11) What is your most memorable vacation (at any point in life that you can remember)? Where did you go? Who were you with? What did you do? Why is it so memorable?
All of my family vacations were memorable.....they all had a definite Griswald's feel to them. The car would break down (or worse, just the A/C on a trip to Arizona), we would get totally lost, everything that could go wrong, would.....and we still had a blast every time. I miss those times.
12. Where have you always wanted to travel to but haven't been there yet?
My best friend and I have plans to go to every Major League baseball stadium before we die.....that's about it...I don't really have an itch to travel much.
13. Tell us about your favorite teacher/other non-parent role model you had as a kid.
Easily, my youth minister, Dennis. He just cared so much about us kids....and gave us so much of himself and his time. And we took so much of it for granted. He was the very reason I went into Youth Ministry/Religious Education. I wanted to help kids the way he help me. I haven't even come close to being as awesome as he is, unfortunately.
Now I want to know:
What was the best concert you ever went to?
jdramj

[b]What was the best concert you ever went to?
I have to choose? Ok hands down Julian Lennon in St Louis 1980's (I can't remember the exact year)----ok....just kidding!
I'll limit it to my top 3 or 4 that all have different reasons for being my favorite and pretty much tie for best.
Biongo at the house of Blues or Boingo Farewell tour at Universal Amp
or
Duran Duran at Staples Center this year
or
U2 at Anaheim Stadium 1990's (when it was still completely enclosed)

Question: Who was your first love?
Oops...sorry UvaGirl....I missed your question.
Ummm, geez...I think I subconsciously ignored this question on purpose. My first love was a guy named Nacho. We started dating when I was 17, I think we dated for a year and a half. He was my first "grown up" boyfriend. I shudder now though, to think of how immature we where, and the crap we put each other through. But I did love him.
