Have a job lined up. Get some Vitamin B-12 pills, but in the meanwhile soak up all the SoCal sunshine that you can. It's gonna be in short supply.

Yeah, as much as I hate their hockey team, Vancouver's a beautiful city.

Have a blast. That's one of very few cities I'd consider moving to.

My new boss & I are working on a development plan to get me in to the Regional Business Center, as an underwriter. Once I get in, I will work the job for a year, then transfer from the RBC in Irvine to the one in Seattle. A better life for me & the one I love.

I love SoCal but I've had enough of sunny days and know enough Cast Members to never need a Disneyland pass when I visit.

Reo & Seattle are my future.

It's been awhile since the last bunch of So Cal expats moved in so you've got that. Go for the city and don't settle for the suburbs which are rainy versions of Irvine. Lot's of great outdoor adventures despite the weather - Lake Quinalt, Ho Rain Forest are things you should take time to see.

Reo has mentioned some of those things & sends me pictures of them to help sell me on the idea. Reo wants to live in Seattle proper, and I don't see that as a problem, with the career paths we both are developing.

It's so weird. In the past I couldn't see myself living outside of SoCal. Now I can't see myself living, period, without Reo. Not to offend Jaime or Steve, but I believe Reo is the one. :)

If me giving up Disneyland for the man I love isn't commitment, what is ?

LOL!

It's been quite a while since we've heard from you. The last time I think I saw you was when we saw Whose Line at DCA, with my wife in the wheelchair. (The show is comming back to TV in a few weeks, BTW).

I wish the best for you and Reo! Good luck with the re-locating! And please let us know how it goes, and keep in touch!

No offense taken at all. All I've ever wanted is for you to be happy, and hopefull to find that happiness in love.

(And I remember you seeing yourself living in Las Vegas for a while, but I guess that's sorta SoCal-adjacent) ;)

I have friends that live in the Queen Ann hill neighborhood and they love it. I know others who live in lofts in Seattle and love it. Although lofts are a strange concept to me, some oftheir places are amazing!

There is a lot to do and see in seattle and vancouver BC. Youshould really take a trip up to Victoria too.

Good luck to you and don't be a stranger around here.

My Seattle living experience is dated at this point so no real advice.

It is a relatively easy public transit commuting city (the bus tunnels remain one of my favorite things ever) so if your recreational habits will take out out of town more than downtown I'd say don't rule out the north or south suburbs (do not go east unless you work over there).

Queen Ann Hill is a very nice neighborhood, but I have no idea what kind of urban environment you prefer. Personally I like something a little bit grittier.

Seattle is fantastic. I think you'll love it. You can pretty much walk everywhere, and anywhere you don't want to walk you just take the buses or lightrail with your ORCA card. The weather can be cold and rainy, but it can also be 60's-70's and quite beautiful. Even if you live in West Seattle or Beacon Hill or the U District, downtown is just a short bus trip away. For busing, get the One Bus Away app. It tells you if the bus you are waiting for is on time or if it is delayed and for how long. Invaluable! If it's late and buses aren't running and you need a cab, use Uber instead. You can see where all there cars are on the app (black towncars), and how long it will take for them to get you. You set everything up on the app and pay before you get in. They txt or call when they are close by and it's no hassle. Capitol Hill is the gay area. Tons of great bars and restaurants. Q is the newest gay club in the area- it's 2 floors and pretty nice inside, and the outside is super neon. Lots of drag brunches and stuff in that area as well. Pho is everywhere, as well as sushi. Those are really popular foods in Seattle. Westlake Center is in downtown and it seems to be the place where people tend to meet up to go other places from. That's probably because the downtown transit tunnel (bus and lightrail stop) goes right under there, and you can get directly to and from the airport on the lightrail for $2.75 each way. You can find places to live all over for pretty decent prices. As long as you don't live in a far far north or south suburb or across Lake Washington in Bellevue or Kirkland, public transit is much easier to take than driving your car. Parking can be prohibitively expensive (and a bitch to find) in downtown proper, though there are some metered spots that are more reasonable.

Hopefully some of that is helpful... Be well.

The Wells Fargo Dealer Services Seattle Regional Business Center is in Kent and Reo is currently in Federal Way, in his old family home with his sister . I'm definitely taking my car. Reo drove his 19 hours up the 5. I will probably do the same. So I probably won't need public transit.

Reo is not into any gay scenes, so I doubt either of us will be hitting up any gay themed areas, even if accommodating.

How does Seattle downtown parking compare to Los Angeles downtown parking, or are they similar ? I know parking in LA can be annoying.

Parking in downtown can be a bitch... I usually park by Cal Anderson Park and walk or bus to wherever I need to go. It's metered, but not too bad and usually easy to find a spot. The garages downtown are rape.

I have friends scattered all over the Seattle environs, and there are pluses and minuses to most areas: Bellevue- somewhat expensive, but relatively clean, safe and so forth. Great shopping, but the commute to downtown Seattle can be dicey in the winter. (When WILL Seattle wake up and realize they now have snowy winters? Buy some snowplows, dudes). Lynwood, Mountlake Terrace, Kent, Renton and Edmonds all have their good and bad points as well, but no matter what burb you may choose, you are not far from downtown Seattle, and I tend to think of these places as just sort of bedroom communities for the main metro area. I know people who live in Issaquah who identify as Seattleites. You do realize you will be a mere 4 hour drive from us, Isaac? Stalking may be involved....;)

LOL! I will visit you Wendy!

Oddly, in the last week, my life has been put in a blender.

My transgender brother is going to marry his fiance and move to Seattle (his fiance's family is there) and our parents are talking about retiring there.

I caught Reo flirting with another guy (not as cute as me) in Seattle. He called me last Sunday @12am to dump me, so he could fool around. The next day, I asked my cute gay friend Tyler about Seattle since he lives there, and to my surprise, he asked me out on a date and wants to show me the town and per sue me.

This Seattle thing just keeps getting bigger and more crazy!
