Is anyone familiar with the Hollywood Bowl ticketing process?

I have plans to be in LA in late August, and I noticed that John Williams is conducting a concert (http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/tickets/john-williams-maestro-of-movies/2014-08-30) of his music then. So of course I'd love to go!

On the Hollywood Bowl website this specific concert is only available as part of a series and only a few premium sections are available. At some point do they release the rest of the sections for general sale or do they actually sell the place out with people purchasing series tickets?

Ahh, A little Google Foo and I was able to answer (http://www.presstelegram.com/arts-and-entertainment/20140205/the-hollywood-bowls-2014-summer-season-includes-beatles-the-simpsons-tributes) my own question.

The full Bowl season schedule is available at www.hollywoodbowl.com. Single tickets won’t go on sale until May 4; until then only subscription series are available.

And can I just revel in the irony of going for John Williams tickets on May the Fourth? heh.

Anyone want to come along? I'm trying for the Saturday Aug 30th 8:00pm concert in promenade 1 or better seats.

Good luck! I've always had good luck getting tickets early in the season.

It's a great venue and you can bring your own food or wine or whatever. Wine is available to purchase onsite, but the food options are kind of limited.

I have such fond memories of a Pink Martini outing with many of the LoT. It was a lovely evening and I took spectacularly terrible photos of the fireworks, too.
