The trades have begun. And the Dodgers are off to a roaring start, picking up another underperforming fossil. Yay!

It makes sense. You don't want to burn out the guys who lose games for you before you get to Jansen.

On a more relevant front, if the Red Sox really are at 5 and 95 for Pablo, and the Giants really are at 5 and 90, and we don't pony up to sign him, well, that will be bad.

I don't understand why the Dodger can't just put Justin Turner at shortstop. Maybe I'm too optimistic and he won't be able to maintain the pace he put up last season. And he's not a marquee player. But he's solid enough..and free (well, already budgeted).

I don't understand why the Giants can't just put Pablo Sandoval at third.

I was getting very frustrated at their inability to seal the deal..but it all became clear that they were just holding out so they could clinch while embarrassing Bumgarner.
