Here's a list and synopsis for the Disney films for 2015 (https://d23.com/disney-films-cant-wait-watch-2015/?CMP=EMC-eml&att=20150122_D23_FanFare) I have high hopes for Tomorrowland!

Pixar has two films coming out in a single year? Sweet!
Strange Magic doesn't sound that appealing to me. I'm very excited to see Avengers 2, Ant Man, Tomorrowland, and Cinderella.

The review for Strange Magic in the Register wasn't very good. They said Johnny Depp's new movie is a flop as well. But I don't always agree with the critics. Most likely I won't be paying full ticket price for them, though.

Johnny Depp's new movieMortdecai‎? That looks like a major stinkburger.

I saw a headline that said Lucas described Strange Magic as "Star Wars for girls." I can't imagine anything good coming from that.

Yeah, that's the one. I just didn't know how to spell it. I think Johnny should stay away from comedy.

What I loved about the one Strange Magic commercial I saw (they didn't screen for press outside of LA from what I've heard so I didn't have to see it) was the line about "from the mind of George Lucas."

It was so cute how they thought that was a selling point.

This was obviously something that Disney has to swallow as part of the LucasFilm deal and they treated it as such.

Jason saw it yesterday and made no real remark about it. I'll ask him again.

Slightly off topic per the OP, but tangential - was reminded of Napoleon Dynamite today which got me what what Jon Heder is up to.

Walt Before Mickey (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3154310/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_7)

Can't say the trailer (http://www.waltbeforemickey.com/) grabs me. Seems kinda dull and perfunctory.

While slightly off topic because it is not a movie by Disney, it's a movie about Disney. It's based on a true story, but I wonder what percentage is fictional, filler material.....

I know that Walt was devastated after loosing Oswald, and I always wondered what he really went through. That curiosity alone makes me want to see this movie, though I'm almost afraid to watch it at the same time.

Thanks for posting about it GD!

That's a truly awful trailer. And you can't really judge a movie by its trailer but the result looks like a bad Lifetime movie.

It feels like the movie is 40% expository phone calls.

So now there is talk that the Magic Eye Theater, which hosted the Big Hero 6 trailer, will now host the Tomorrowland Trailer....in Tomorrowland. Fitting, no?

Very appropriate venue.
How does this "hosting" thing work? Do they just load up the theater to play a trailer?

Basically, yes. It's an extended trailer, usually 15 -20 minutes. But because they use venues like the Magic Eye Theater, Muppet's 3D, and It's Tough To be A Bug, they are usually 3D and utilize the special effects in the theater like lighting, smoke, loud base, or movement. It can result in a better experience than the full movie in the regular theaters. I think movie chains should pay attention! Perhaps DBox (the chairs that moves) is what the start of that.

Been done already (http://www.waltmovie.com) (although not real well)

Did that even make it to the theaters? That came out last year and I didn't even hear about it! Sounds like that was a good thing...
