Disney has just announced, via press release, that they’ve picked their Belle to fall for a still-TBD hunky dude in hairy makeup. Here’s the announcement:
Actress Emma Watson has been cast as Belle in Disney’s upcoming live-action interpretation of ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ The film is directed by Bill Condon and produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. Production is anticipated to begin later this year.

My first thought was NO WAY! But after reading this, I realize that I've only seen him in the notebook. And we need to remember to judge an actor by his talent, not his parts. (His acting parts, the parts he has played....never mind)...
