This weekend, I attended the 2005 California FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) State Leadership Conference in San Francisco. I had qualified earlier this year at the regional competition to compete in the Computer Concepts and Networking Concepts competitions.

This year at state, I placed 2nd in Computer Concepts and 4th in Networking Concepts.

The top two contenders from each state get to attend the National Leaders Conference at the Walt Disney World Resort.

I placed 2nd...

I'M GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a huge thing, because, apart from me being a Freshman, I'm also part of a first year chapter at a first year high school. I'll be competing against other high school students from across the country at the National Competition.

This...is fricken awesome. I had no idea I would place. As you can probably tell, I'm really excited. I havn't been to WDW for years. I don't even remember it. Coming in 2nd at the State Competion is HUGE. But, who cares about FBLA, because I'M GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be there June 23rd to the 28th.

Wow.

But there are still important questions to be answered:

Did you get a plaque suitable for framing?

That is sooo awesome DisneyFan!

Way back in the day, I was in FBLA. Made it to State and the project I worked on made it to state. Mind you there were only three schools competing in that category, but hey, we went to state.

You are going to have an incredible time there. :)

I would say so...

The one on the far left is from Sectionals, then the three on the right are from state (2nd to the left is my 2nd place in Computer Concepts, third is my 4th in Networking Concepts, fourth is my Who's Who in FBLA Award)

Also, it was fun riding these:

Edit - guess the image won't work.

Dude, you got to ride Segways?? For how long? How awesome is that?! :snap:

Congrats on your awesome achievement! If I'd known that doing something like that might give my parents a reason to pay for me to go to WDW, I would have worked harder in high school. :p

CP: Yeah, the Segways were a blast. It was a 3 hour guided tour with training through Fishermen's Wharf. About 15 people were on it.

Here is a working copy of the above pic of me on the Segway:

Hey, DF- is it my imagination, or do you look...older? I know you're at that age where guys kind of take off in height, etc, and the last pic I remember seeing of you was from a MP meet several years ago.
Anyway, great pic!:snap:

Well...yes, I guess I am older. Maybe it's because I'm taller than my dad now (he's the one on the left if you didn't know) and because I've thinned out alot?
