I have a friend who is a plumber there, and his shop is one of the ones torn down. It had been built in 1956, along with a string of shops like metal works and wood works. These could be seen along the tram route near the stoplight on Disneyland Drive into the DDT parking lot adjacent to the Mickey & Friends structure.
It's a shame to loose the history of these shops Walt built and use to wander through, as well as the original roundhouse and the Circle D ranch. But, unlike the apartment above the Potc which use to be open to the public and now isn't, I never got to set foot in them. Now the area will be open to the public, greatly expanding the guest visiting footprint of the park.
I enjoy the Star Wars franchise, but I'm not a huge fanboy by any means. But I'm looking forward to seeing this. And if I can ever get to Florida, I would love to see Avitar land. Of course, I will eventually see Harypotterville [sic] in Hollywood. I'm fascinated by the craftsmanship and story telling of the areas, one reason I have always loved Ghost Town of Knott's as well.
