Has anybody else heard about this? Read on another board that there's a 6pm soft opening of Parade of Dreams and an 8ish soft opening of Remember.

They say that it's not going to happen tomorrow, so it's tonight or wait until the 5th or thereafter.

Well, I got a soft opening for the fireworks last week ;) , although it seemed to be only the finale & I wasn't in the park.. hmmm... Though I only saw the finale, it looked great, so it'll be nice to know there are f-works to go check out soon! :D

Wait a second... I keep thinking I'm reading something inappropriate in my post above, but I think I'll just leave it... :P

AVP's sources are pretty good, and that's what she is saying too.

f-works. Sounds dirty to me.

I don't think there's any hard confirmation on tonight's possible soft opening.

I'm amazed that when writing fireworks, I managed to be so lazy that I couldn't type three lousy letters, replacing them with a - ... A new all time low

Oh well... I think it would be really cool to see some f-works on my way home from school again, provided the teacher lets us out at a decent time.

I'm a too tired and burt to read anything but nasties into F-works and soft opening.

And, I am definitely too tired to go to the Park.

Oh. My. God.

Wow.

Most amazing fireworks show ever in the history of anything anywhere. Just astonishing. How can I talk about it without giving anything away? Let me just say that it was put together by people who clearly love Disneyland and know its history. I actually went into City Hall to apologize to anyone I may have offended regarding Light Magic. It's not just Disney Quality, what the Park should have been doing all along, it surpasses all expectations. As long as CM Matt is in charge, I'm officially retiring my skepticism regarding Disneyland management. I'm remaining seated please, and I'm holding onto my hats and glasses, all is (almost) forgiven.

by far- the BEST EVER!

no words, really to desrcibe the show to do it justice.

here is the beautiful narration if you would like to read it:

Good Evening. This is Julie Andrews.
Once upon a time, there was a Magic Kingdom made of hopes and childhood fantasies.

A timeless place where every land was filled with wonder. A place where everyone who entered its gates would be given the gift of the young-at-heart, the power to wish upon a star and unlock its magic.

Are you ready to wish upon a star?

Then it's time to open your heart and Remember... Dreams Come True.

-----

Fifty years ago, a magical place was born...and in this marvelous Kingdom there lived many remarkable friends who made our dreams come true.

An everlasting place where storybook heroes and daring adventures waited around every corner.

Tonight we're going to share a wonderful dream come true together.

In 1955, an amazing man named Walt Disney dreamt of a Magic Kingdom:

[Walt Disney's Opening Day Dedication Speech]

[E Ticket-In-The Sky]

Fifty years later, Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom has grown to become The Happiest Place On Earth to millions the world over...

a place where anything is possible - where every dreamer may wish upon a star.

[FINALE]

Remember...Dreams Come True. :D

Considering the Pressler disappointments of the past, I was afraid that the new fireworks were overhyped. I figured I'd probably enjoy them, but I didn't think they'd be as wholly incredible as I was lead to believe. Besides, how much better than Believe could they really be?

As it turns out, much better. And as it turns out, I don't think it's actually possible to overhype Remember.

I saw clamoring for videotape of the finale elsewhere online. The finale is nice. But it can hardly compete with the rest of the show, which had me squeaking and clapping and ooohing and aahing and pointing my finger and having a complete freak-out of a time.

Whoever laid the music tracks together, whoever came up with the terrific lighting effects and cool tricks... they had to be a fan. A genuine fan. A gets-her-hands-on-everything-she-can-read-about-the-park fan. I don't want to spoil anything, but let's just say that... there's a huge nod to every big ride, and a little nod to almost every other ride, yesterland or today.

If you go on a day when it's at all possible to stand in the vicinity of the hub (there was more space there than I expected) you should really try to do that at least once. We were in the right/middle crosshairs and it allowed a really great view of all of the in-the-round fireworks... You'll still get a great view elsewhere, but for the Haunted Mansion bit in particular you deserve to see it as it was intended. Speaking of which, that Haunted Mansion bit was my favorite, but it's hard to choose between so many really great sections.

The only bum deal was... a somewhat unneccesary opening lifted from another park's fireworks-- but, hey, extra pyro, and once the real deal started ...I was completely out of my gourd with pleasure. This show felt like it was made for us-- the geeks, the fans, the people who love it and its history. Tom and I caught up with Gn2DLand right afterwards, and two of the three of us practically hyperventilated with geeker joy discussing it. (The third enjoyed it as well.)

My God, just reading the non-spoiler stuff (I'm avoiding real spoilers) is freaking me out. "Most amazing fireworks show ever in the history of anything anywhere"? "And as it turns out, I don't think it's actually possible to overhype Remember"? Wow. I'm very, very impressed by these posts.

I'm excited! Wheee!!!

If it rains on Thursday and they can't do the show, I'm going to be ONE PISSED PRINCESS!

Edit: I meant Thursday. I have post Coachella Confusion Syndrom.

More Edit:

OOOH! I wonder if they are going to do it tonight? It looks like I may have a rondevous at the park with my husband tonight.

Well, the Remember music rocks, so I can only imagine how much butt the show kicks with the added visuals.

BTW, AVP has posted a nice breakdown of the Parade of Dreams float stops, so if you're interested in a particular segment, you might want to check out the DLR Forum at MP.

On miceage, there are some great photos of the floats in an Al Lutz column (5/3). Pretty amazing looking. He has photos of some of the fireworks, but photos of fireworks suck by default.

With all I have heard about how the best viewing for the show is in the hub, I wonder how long it will be until DL starts offering paid reserved seating with a dessert buffet for them.

Absolutely incredible!

And that's all I have to say about that for right now. Get there, go see it.

To those of you excited to see it - you should be. You really, really should be.

For once, Fantasmic has serious competition. I was in tears within the first minute, and STILL have the warm fuzzies just thinking about it. Take everything you're expecting and multiply that by 1,000%, and you just might be right on the mark. ;)

Nope. No luck. Park closed at 8 and we were dining until 10 without a sparkle in the sky. Thursday for me, or Friday, or Sunday. One of those days it WILL NOT rain!

However, JC was open and it looks FANTASTIC! I'll post pics tomorrow after I get home from the Evil Dentist.
