Here's an interesting article regarding the parallels between Lucas's new film and Iraq. Click here. (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/blog/2005/05/16/BL2005051600615_pf.html)
"Revenge of the Sith," it turns out, can also be seen as a cautionary tale for our time -- a blistering critique of the war in Iraq, a reminder of how democracies can give up their freedoms too easily, and an admonition about the seduction of good people by absolute power.
Wow, Lucas moved up a notch in my eyes. But we can never forget him for Jar Jar.

I read that this morning and thought the same. (Excepting Jar Jar- he's kind of annoying, but he grows on ya.)

Can we at least blame him for Jake Lloyd? Ugh! :D
As I was sharing this article with my friends via Gmail, one of them sent this response:
"Does this mean that, in 20 years, Barbara and Jenna Bush will convince their father to get rid of Karl Rove?"
Funny stuff. :) I love my friends... :)

Brilliant friend, GC. Hee.
I may be impressed with one of the dialogue exchanges noted, but... Jar-Jar? Jake Lloyd? All pale in comparison with midichlorians. And also, this bit of dialogue--
Anakin: I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth.

or
"Monsters out there, leaking in here. Weesa all sinking and no power. Whena yousa thinking we are in trouble?"

So being that Jar-Jar is on the side of the rebellion against the empire, I suppose that would make him Howard Dean.

Shortly after posting that, I came across a funny site and had to post this - it is a list of "spoilers" that happen in ROTS.
"Jar-Jar Binks sabotages his political career by shouting at a rally, "Meesa not only goin' to Naboo, meesa goin' to Tattoine, Alderaan, Hoth ... and meesa goin' to Corruscant to take back the Senate! Yeeeaah!!!""
The site pokes more fun at the right than the left, but they are all pretty funny -

"Sith-funded Trade War Veterans for Truth funds media campaign around theme of "Lightsabers don't kill people, Jedis kill people."

Could be. Anakin also does a Dean-esque 'whoopee' scream in 'Phantom Menace' during the pod race... :)
