Saw this trailer with Revenge of the Sith. It blew me away! I've been a freaky fan of the books forever, and have read my copies too many times to count...and I was very, VERY impressed. The crowd broke into applause and cheers at the end of the trailer. They're giving it the Lord of the Rings treatment!
Apparently they're calling it the teaser trailer, even though it seems pretty thorough to me.
Hope this link works. (http://mp.aol.com/video.index.adp?pmmsid=1337954&_AOLFORM=w708.h344.p7.R1) My browser has been screwy today. If not go to imdb.com for trailer links.

The trailer and more can be found at the official site here (http://adisney.go.com/disneypictures/narnia/index.html) .
I'm also very impressed. I had heard rumors that Disney was going to go the whole Christian (Passion of the Christ) route when marketing the flick, which turned me off a bit.
While they still might go for that market (let's face it, they'd be stupid not to), it's nice to see that they're going for the SF/Fantasy crowd first. It looks like it's going to be cool adaptation - gets me more excited than HHGG did.

Well, I'll be re-reading this book - for the 50th time. The trailer is great. This is a story I can get into (and have loved for over 35 years). I hope they do a good job. It certainly looks promising!

Is this supposed to be just the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, as the full title implies, or are they going to try to blend the books together?

I don't have a problem with that, so long as it's not the only marketing route (and it does not seem to be.) The book uses a fair amount of Christian allegory, and is studied by many a young Christian in that light. Of course, it transcends that aspect, too, and it's good to see that the marketers recognize that.

Oh, and can I just say that I absolutely hated the British made for TV versions? I'll be so glad when they're no longer the only version.

I've seen the trailer, but only on my computer. I'm looking forward to the movie. I've seen some of the behind the scenes stuff from Weta, which looks very cool.
Did they show the War of the Worlds trailer too? I am really psyched for that one. Looks kickass.

No WotW trailer for us this time. We saw it when we saw Sin City. I remember liking the trailer, I think.

My original understanding was that the entire series had been optioned to do a series of films. (Seven books?)
And that this is in fact , just the first book.

Not that it's of any real significance, but...
We did not get the narnia.
We got (as best as I can remember):
Some Russel Crow boxing movie
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Batman
Colour of Magic
and
The Fantstic Four

Our local PBS station is WETA, other than that I'm drawing a blank. Weta is a who or what?

If you go to the official Narnia website (http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/narnia/) you can see the behind the scenes stuff I was talking about.

We got War of the Worlds and Narnia yesterday. We did not get the Colour of Magic, but we did get all others listed. I was hoping for a Harry Patter trailer myself. The Narnia trailer caught me off guard and blew me away! I, too, am so psyched!

Oh, me too! It's so cool to see what looks to be a proper treatment, just as with the LOTR's. There are some books that are just so great, so evocative in their pure prose form, that trying to make a film or play of them is usually just a disaster. I saw the trailer for the Narnia film last week, and I was so excited to see such promise! I just hope the movie really is as good as the trailer makes it seem.

We downloaded it a couple of weeks back. I'm really excited about this film - I was nervous at first, but it looks so good. Can't wait!
