Well, we just installed Tiger into our macs, and I'm liking it so far...
But handy hint for those out there:
If you have Virex 7.5 --- UNINSTALL IT!! They're in testing for Virex 8, but the older Virex programs ddddrrraaagggg as they're running in the background. Hopefully, they'll have something soon.
It's not like we have much of anything to worry about anyway, but just thought I'd pass it along. Has made a huge different lag-wise with my laptop, which I hadn't really experienced before this.
But otherwise -WOW!!
Loving it,
Erica

What is a "mac" ?
;)
Lucky you. I want it, too, though, sadly, I will have to wait until I have a little extr'ee money burnin' a hole in my pocket -- which at the present seems unlikey.

I'm excited to install Tiger - but I'm concerned that some of the 3rd-party software I use regularly won't work quite yet. I'm waiting til the second week of June... then I'm going to take the plunge.
Glad it's working out for you!

Yeah, so far so good, though I remember the massive concerns from OS9 to OSX, and this seems pretty smooth so far.
Any tiny glitches have been exactly that.
Anyhow -----------

Not surprisingly, it is already available on Limewire
What is a "mac" ?
;)An option for those who choose to not follow the masses and want an easier to use, more reliable computer.

If you have Virex 7.5 --- UNINSTALL IT!!Also, I must thank you. This reminded me that I
Had deactivated Virex a while back for something and hadn't turned it back on
Needed to update to 7.5 (still had 7.2)
Which will all have to be changed again once I get around to installing Tiger.

Hahaha --
7.2 is having no problems with Tiger, as I have learned on my older mac laptop. I also checked in with my guru buddy, who said it shouldn't be an issue, as 7 didn't run in the background like 7.5 did. The earlier Virex was on-demand scanning.
I still cleaned out my cache on the old girl, and am repairing all my permissions (a.k.a. - everything I let slide on her) before I give her an upgrade.
I dont run a virus scan on my Mac..
as per an Apple Store Genius/friend of mine.

No virus scan for me either...
I have to wait until I can muster up $69 bucks (student price) to buy it, so I probably won't get Tiger until I get my paycheck from my summer job. But we are upgrading all the school video Macs to Tiger, so at least I'll be able to play with it for a bit.

Yeah, I just scan mine occasionally on the off-chance that I might have something I can pass to a PC "friend".... We are steadily maintaining the zero virus status.. LOL
