Today I am Beverly R. Sutphin (Kathleen Turner) from Serial Mom.
Just a little warning to all the gum chewers, sloppy recyclers, litterbugs, non dog-walking dog owners and weed wacking noise-makers. I see you (and hear you) and you're pissing me off!
Who are you today?

I usually feel a little bit like Beth in "Pieces of April," concerned and connected to my mom and upset that others in my family aren't considering her illness enough.
Sometimes I feel like Karen in "All About Eve," in proximity to crazy people and unable to help them. And probably whatever I'm trying is not helping them. And perhaps a little crazy myself.
Next weekend, I suspect I'll feel a little like Teri Polo's character in Meet the Parents, though I don't suspect there will be great struggle between the parents and Tom; I think they'll like each other.

Most of the time I feel like Gwyneth Paltrow from Sliding Doors....like my life should be completely different from how it is...and maybe there's another me out there somewhere living the right life.
I have always identified with Superman. On the other hand, I remember when the film American Splendor came out, within days I rec'd several e-mails, and two letters from friends, old and new. They all had the same thing on their mind -- about how much I resembled Harvey Pekar, both physically and psychologically. When I finally saw the film, the gurl I brought with me kept nudging me and laughing.

Fine me a film character that is the "adult" and "advisor" during a tragic situation. That would be be at the moment.

Oh wait, that doesn't count. The CHARACTER was tragic, not the situation.

I'm waiting to hear back from a job interview so today I feel a bit like Paul Giamatti in Sideways. I'm having a couple of glasses of wine and waiting to hear from the publisher, so to speak. Not quite as bitter though, and I didn't steal any money from my mom. :)

I'm feeling just a teensy bit like Bridget Jones. Every now & then, you kinda wanna stay in your jammies and drink vodka cocktails while listening to Chaka Khan, of course. :)
I'm not doing that, but it sure sounds tempting now and then!
