No, this thread is nothing about Trista and Ryan or any of the other TV match-making shows!!

My sister is getting married in Jamaica next month and we're sending her off with a chicks only weekend in two weeks.....wanted to share, cause we're all excited!!

Sarah's two closest friends live in Pasadena and Minnesota, so she thinks they're not coming, of course, but they ARE. We're pulling off this huge surprise for her, and I'm SO happy for her. I can't believe it's actually happening!

We're starting off by meeting here:

www.nortrupstation.com (http://www.nortrupstation.com)

This hotel is fantastic!! It's so colorful and gorgeous and everyone that works there is uber HOT. It's like sleeping in the coolest lounge in town. We've reserved the patio for drinks and eats early in the afternoon. (In the morning, though, my sister and I are getting our hair cut and colored...just us! :D ) It's on the streetcar line and we have two queen suites....so excited.

www.portlandstreetcar.org (http://www.portlandstreetcar.org)

Then we have reserved ten spaces for manicures and pedicures at this salon about five blocks away.....her friends from out of town are bringing bottles of wine and surprising Sarah at the salon! She will FREAK out!

We're meeting some stragglers back at the hotel, freshening up, and heading (on the streetcar) down to www.bluehouronline.com (http://www.bluehouronline.com) for drinks. They're saving two outdoor tables for us....I LOVE this place. Excellent lemon drops!

Then we're going several blocks further to dinner at www.andinarestaurant.com (http://www.andinarestaurant.com) which is Sarah's favorite restaurant. Mmmm....excellent tapas and their wine list is amazing. I LOVE this place and they're excited to have us.

After that....probably the Fez Ballroom or the Doug Fir......I've linked their sites before on LoT.

The next day, Sarah's fiance and his friends are "surprising" us with brunch at 10:30. And when her gelatto shop opens at noon, we're all heading there....they're naming their pineapple/coconut flavor after her!! It's going to be called Sarah's Nuts for Jon Erik.

I'm not sure I've told how they got engaged.....but Jon Erik told Sarah that "their" gelatto shop was having a scavenger hunt for a $50 gift certificate. He worked it out with the shop to get some of their letterhead, and the owner was so excited to get involved, that he actually GAVE JE a gift certificate. Anyway, he's got this whole scavenger hunt across town....the stops happen to be at a restaurant they went to on their first date, a few other places, and then end at the Rose Garden Arena in the fountain area (they went to something at the RG on their first date too). He's got the last clue planted their and the ring in his pocket......explains that the whole thing was a hoax, no gift certificate, then got all mushy, and pulled out the ring.

After much bawling....they headed back to the gelatto place and the owner stayed late that night to meet Sarah and gave her the gift certificate.....cute.

So, the owner is telling everyone in town about Sarah and JE and someone said, you should name her favorite flavor after her. So he called JE and told him.....and this is how we're letting her know!!

I'm bawling writing this......I'm just so damn happy for her.

Awwww....Claire! http://www.loungeoftomorrow.com/LoT/images/smilies/smile_lot.gif It all sounds like so much fun and so very swanky! I think it's super cool that you and your sis are so close! I finally found someone that loves their sis as much as I love mine!

Have a really wonderful time at the Bachelorette weekend -- what awesome planning! Best wishes to Sarah and JE! Next time I'm up in Portland, I'm going to search out and order some of the gelatto -- Sarah's Nuts for JohnErik. I love pineapple/coconut! I think we could work out some kind of payment plan if Tref and SacTown come on up and take it all off. ;)

Darcelle's www.darcellexv.com (http://www.darcellexv.com) has an all male revue (the Men of Paradise that we've called the Men of Oily Ass since before I even turned 21!) that many bachelorette parties go too, but since we've ALL been there time and again for other bach parties, we had ZERO interest in going again.

We'd rather dance.....somewhere. Seems most of the places that have DJ's are the same places we've been going for eons--nothing new has popped up lately. Oh well. I still have a few weeks left before I have to decide. I'm thinking of inviting a group of guys I've known forever to come dance with us/buy us drinks....there's one in particular that Sarah's crushed on since she was in high school and he's one of my best friends.....would be a nice closure with some drunken dirty dancing. But I have to make sure my own crush is NOT invited and that's a bit tricky.

Thanks for the snaps!! I was sweating the planning process the last few months, but since these are places that we (I, my sister, our friends) frequent, everyone's being so cool about making it happen! That has helped SO much.

A guy was shot and killed two weeks ago in front of one of our favorite martini lounges (turns into a dance club late in the evening), so we had to figure out a new place for our early drinks. So sad. :(

Damn, you, Claire.

You have singlehandedly sent me into a wedding-internet-surfing fiend this afternoon. I am looking at white dresses for a left hand that is naked like a baby's bottom, all thanks to Sarah's Nuts for Jon Erik. Damn you, Claire!

Gilted lover perhaps? I say go for the adventure, go early, and have Bloody Marys.

What does this all mean? Are you writing to us in a secret code? LSP, are you some sort of foreign spy?

Oh. My. God. I. am. so. tired.

We had a blast....everything went as planned, but even better!! I was exactly at the right level of drunkenness for 24 hours. Perfection! We ended up with eleven people at the salon, and the twelfth joined us for cocktails afterward. Everything was awesome and juuuust the right mix of girls for a large group.

We hooked up with a bachelor party that kept us out til dawn....mmmm....loved them! And our suite at the hotel was gorgeous....it's a boutique hotel whose theme is modern art....incredible place!!

I think I'll go curl back up on the couch. Just wanted to say hi!!

Sounds just like Bachelor Party, without Tom Hanks and the hookers.

Or maybe Tom Hanks was there with hookers. Was Tom Hanks there with hookers?!

Good times, lady! Glad you had fun, fun, fun.

I'm glad you had a great time. Rest up!

I've been meaning to ask you... what's the name of the gelato place? If it's the one I'm thinking of (near the pearl) I don't work very far from there. I've been craving Gelato since we got back from Canada. mmm...mango gelato!
