Hold on to them hats and glasses... this is outrageous.

From Americablog.com.

A clever AMERICAblogger sent me the following link to the US Department of Defense's own Marine Corps Web site. It shows a photo taken May 5, 2005 in Iraq. It's a photo of a US tank dubbed the "New Testament" - the name of the tank is written across its barrel.
Link to blog. (http://americablog.blogspot.com/2005/05/dod-web-site-jokes-of-christian.html)

This was posted on the 23rd and I followed the link myself to the picture. As of yesterday or the day before, the picture was gone.

Should I blame Newsweek for this one? Lyndie England?

"Our holy war is more righteous than your holy war!"

Or how about,

"What's the big deal? It's just an advertisement for the novelization of Passion of the Christ."

The New Testament is my second favorite part...very cool ending. First place is a two-way tie between Adam & Eve and Moses. Honorable mention goes to Noah and all that freaky animal sex. If the ark is a rockin'....

Nope, not a religious war at all.

So many reasons to be so very proud.

Brother Maynard: Armaments, chapter two, verses nine through twenty-one.

Cleric: [reading] And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the Lord did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths, and carp and anchovies, and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit-bats and large chu...

Brother Maynard: Skip a bit, Brother...

Cleric: And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.

Brother Maynard: Amen.

All: Amen.
