So, I bought the starter kit....

I gots a few questions. Hopefully, yous gots a few answers...

How are you ladies who started using it a few months ago feeling about it now?

I noticed that some of my blemishes aren't covering all the way. While I don't care 9/10 times, when it comes down to it, can I use a concealer, let it dry, and then apply Bare Escentuals? Since the DVD player in mom's computer wasn't working, I didn't get to watch the whole DVD yet, but did consult the website and watched the video clips they provided. I'm going to continue experimenting, and will consult the video, but want to start getting advice from my pros...

Warmth actually looks awesome on me! I was a little leery, as I tend toward the olive tones in my skin, but it looks awesome. I can imagine that if it wasn't leaning toward summer that it wouldn't look awesome, but it's looking very nice on. I love the other shimmery diffuser stuff that came in the starter kit!! I picked up the "Medium" kit, and am surprised that I'm using some of the darker stuff -- both look great on!! I can't wait to try Glee...

Hmm... Guess that's it for now... Just wanted to start getting feedback before getting too far with my product.

One of us. One of us.

Try using the lighter color on your blemishes, or use the concealer brush to apply a bit on before you apply your base coat. You can also mix the two shades together and see if you get a shade that will work.

Warmth isn't supposed to be a bronzer, but a powder that creates a 'natural glow'. You're not supposed to use a lot (like 1/1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) of the foundation but I think in the winter it will still look good on you.

Glee is awesome as is Clear Radiance. I really love them both but Warmth doesn't work for me. Not sure how those two will show up with your coloring. Remind me and I'll bring you some CR. Mineral Veil is amazing.

I want to hear how other feel about this product now that they've been using it a few months too.

I went to the store naked, got color matched and wore it the rest of the day. It looked awful on me! It made my skin look less smooth and highlighted my few wrinkles. I need to try it again, but I had real issues the first time. Granted, I am not used to wearing foundation at all, so maybe that's the primary problem. Who knows. Maybe I'm just wierd. Who wudda thunk? ;)

I bought my kit the opeing weekend of Phantom of the opera... but I have no idea how long ago that was now.
I've recently had major stresses in my life and they have spawned blemishes, but generally, my issue was my rosacea red cheeks, and the fact that washing off regular concelear with soap aggfravated my skin. And, made my cheeks even worse.

So, that said.
I still use my minerals pretty much daily.
The first day, the counter gal matched me, and she had me in medium. I really thought it was cakey and heavy, and pale.
I have since swithced to medium beige, or a combo of the two colors. AND, I dont put it on near as heavy as she did.

I find it odd BErica, that when i put it on, I dont see the differnce, as if it wasnt there. But I force myself to walk away, do my hair, put on my earrings, then go back and look. Its almost as if it takes time to 'set'.
That helps me to see that the lighter 'coat' really is enough. Otherwise I way over do.
And I rarely use mineral veil, and even more rarely warmth. My red dheeks still peek through and give the impression of blusher.

Blemishes, I use the tiny brush to cover the blemish, dark circles, or the aggravated red area, before I do the all over application.
I have yet to use the short little fat brush... For some reason I dont like it.

In short, it works for me, I need more. Now, what's glee?

I use it daily and it's VERY easy to over-do. I definitely have to do a little and come back to it....it seems like if you over-do the smallest area, you want the rest to match and you're thinking, DAMN, I look good....but actually you just look like you're wearing a ton of foundation. :D

I don't love mineral veil or warmth, but that's just me. I used warmth last week one day after spending two days in 90 degree weather and it looked good. Tried it last night after a week of no sun, and I looked horrid.

Erica, I liked it enough to order a full can of my foundation color when I ran out.

OK, cool...

So far, still liking it.

My other issue, and I forgot to bring it up, is the naturally dark circles under my eye. I've had them since I was a wee babe. If I'm not wearing heavy concealer, I get asked questions ranging from my health, to my sleep habits. When I lost some weight a while back, I found out that one of my aunts thought I was doped up, and she's from the side of the family that gave me the damn darkness under the eyes!

So, while I get good enough coverage for most times with the BE foundation, on days where I would need more coverage (less sleep than needed, or allergies - I have both today), I wanted to know what to do.

Today, I put on my old foundation under my eyes. Dabbed it just a bit, got light coverage (I never did wear heavy heavy foundation) then let it dry. I then used Bare Essentuals, and it turned out great! Natural looking, and my circles weren't going to haunt me each time I looked in an operatory mirror. So, it *can* be combined, even if I won't do it but once in a very great while.

I'm still really loving it. And yes, I too noticed it takes a little while to settle in.

Claire~ I am so with you on the "ton of foundation" deal! I notice I've been doing that lately! And the minute I go shiny? I begin looking ultra-cakey. :(

However, I'm still hooked! I love the stuff. I wore my trusty Lāncome liquid foundation the day of my Grandfather's funeral (I gave a eulogy, and was worried I'd blind the entire chapel if I went shiny. Actually, my true reason was that I needed strong wear make-up for tears, sunshine and all day activity.)

I was shocked over the difference! I hadn't used liquid since I began using Bare Minerals back in December. I didn't get the coverage & texture with liquid foundation that I have come to love from Bare Minerals. I really love Bare Minerals. :) I just wish I didn't get so..cakey. I use a compact powder to touch up. I used to use Body & Soul for years, but now use Tarte pressed powder and Cornsilk. It all depends. I'm a powderaholic!

Hmm, cakey isn't a problem I've encountered yet. Perhaps it's easier to get more fast and loose with the dip swirl and buff action once you've been doing it a while?

I must buy True all over and bare skin eyeshadow. Though the more I think about it they are the same color. I'll have to look again.

The more use use the system the faster you become. It takes me less time to do my make up now than it did with liquid. Unless I use warmth and mess up. Then I have to start all over.

What I meant by fast and loose is fast & loose might mean more of the minerals getting on the face than needed...

I can imagine, as with most things in life, that expertise and speed get better with time.
