I went to my "local" last night: http://www.menus.co.nz/backbencher/index.html?RID=33 (http://www.menus.co.nz/backbencher/index.html?RID=33)It's 1 minute from my work, and is frequented by various politicians (hence the name). I had 3 (or was it 4?) glasses of NZ sauvignon blanc - a good night:D

That place looks really cool!!
The wine shop I went to last Friday night for a flight of Australian reds is having a New Zealand night tomorrow night. Should I go? Are NZ wines tasty?? Thanks!

Ooh yes, go! We're mainly famous for our whites (particularly Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay &, more recently, Pinot Gris), but we have some pretty good Pinot Noirs too. Look for Pinot Noir from the Otago region, and whites from Marlborough & Martinborough (a cool little wine area about an hour from where I live). If you go, let me know what you think....

Here's what we'll be tasting.....(now I get emails from wineries and wine shops):
Omaka Springs 2003 Pinot Gris, Omaka Valley
Spy Valley 2004 Sauvgnon Blanc, Marlborough
Greenstone Pointe 2003 Pinot Noir, New Zealand
Te Mata 2002 Cab/Merlot Woodthorpe, Hawke's Bay
Sileni 2002 Merlot/Cab Franc, Hawke's Bay
Also New Zealand!!
Okahu 2000 Ninety Mile (Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, Merlot), North Island
Babich 2002 Winemaker's reserve Pinot Noir, Marlborough
And now I only have an hour......so I'll be sucking them down. Bah. Wish it was on another night.

Um okay... there's a place in Danville, CA (nocal) called Marcello's. Not much in the way of the drinky drinky (though they do the typical rum and coke, irish coffee, etc), but if standing around a piano that has a big bar/table surface built onto it, singing with others in a quaint little joint on America's main street (Danville's main drag is ever so quaint), this place is great. The pianist, Patti, is loads of fun and really appreciates great singers. If you wanna sing solo, you stand behind the pianist (basically right next to the front door and sing through the archway.

After the Memorial Day weekend I need to take a bit of a break. My body doesn't rebound very well from the abuse anymore. But I will be catching up in no time. I'm contemplating a trip to Las Vegas next week when my husband is out of town. And the h and I are going to Seattle at the end of June. Prudence, you could make some serious numbers in that town, as I'm sure you know. I might have to plan a stayover in SF if I need to keep up with the pack.

After a post like that, Prudence, you must take pics, even if ya gotta sneak em! I love seedy Seattle bars- they are nearly always cool in some way or another. Seedy Spokane bars are not nearly as interesting.
well, I spend a few hours a week in a little local dive bar in North Park, San Diego, called Buster Daly's, usually drink Amber Bock, as I did Thursday night................................tonight, to celebrate a 30th birthday of a guy I have known for 30 years, I had a few Guiness' at the Sunshine Company in Ocean Beach.

Feeling a sense of duty, BTD & I went out for a relaxing easy night on "the town" so that we could complete our mission.
First stop, Venice Beach. But that turned out to be a no-stop after The Fuzz harshed my buzz. It was crowded, and there were cops all around. I was trying to turn down a side street, and two officers were there diverting traffic, and I thought, just helping out general traffic. But then the lady cop asks me to pull over and pointed to the shoulder of the tiny street we'd turned left onto. So I did.
The officer said, "Turn off your igntion." So I did. Then she said (something to the effect of), "Ma'am, why don't you have a front license plate?" I lied, "Oh, it just got knocked off yesterday. (I think I told you guys that a couple of weeks ago it got knocked off, right?) (Mind you, I've seen countless vehicles since with no front license plate, nor any holes where front license plates might have been, so WTF?) She asked to see it, so I turned around and dug it out of the pile of stuff in my backseat, and I took out all the pieces, and handed them to her. At that point in time, I was only thinking, What the feck's the big deal here? Why not just verify that the car is mine with my license and registration? Why the feck would not having the front license plate be worthy of blocking people behind me over?
So, she let me off with a warning, and BTD & I decided we wanted nothing more to do with Venice that day. We surface streeted it to 3rd Street Promenade at that point, walked around, had a generally lovely time, when suddenly we realized we were hungry.
So, we continued walking, and at the end of the Promenade, at Wilshire, we saw a sign for a bar/restaurant named Monsoon that said sushi. We decided it was the only thing to do, in honor of €, NA, mousepod & H in Japan...
http://homepage.mac.com/emwhitson/MonsoonFront.jpg
We were greeted by a fun Buddha...
http://homepage.mac.com/emwhitson/RubMyBelly.jpg
Just above our big-bellied friend, we saw a sign that said "Happy Hour 4 - 7 PM" and we knew we'd hit jackpot. We found a small table next to the bar, and proceeded to order our drinks.
http://homepage.mac.com/emwhitson/MidoriTonic.jpg
And while we did take pictures of our meal, they weren't on my camera, and probably not as important to the story as our eating the "packing material" that came with the Thai Popcorn Shrimp!
http://homepage.mac.com/emwhitson/PackingMaterialE.jpg http://homepage.mac.com/emwhitson/PackingMaterialM.jpg
YUM!!
It was a swanky trip, made even better by the heavy-loaded drinks, and good eats at a sweet price! This little jem was the best find of the day! The Fuzz, be damned!

So I'm a regular at the Harp in Costa Mesa. It's a little Irish pub with lots of cool people and a beloved bartender, Paul. Usually we go to the Harp then go clubbing then close the Harp but not last weekend. We ended up getting thrown out at 2:45 am!! LOL!
Since Paul is always our bartender when he's there he made room for us at the bar so we could sit. I had several Baybreezes along with my girlfriends. We always flirt with Paul and asked him things like what he was like in bed, how long, why did he date the grumpy waitress and basically accosted him all evening. Not that he hated it since he was drinking Jager all night! We were in rare form!!
Another place I frequent is called Liquid Lounge in Huntington Beach. I had a weeks vacation and my first Saturday back was at Liquid. I couldn't drink anymore since I'd drank for a week straight and I think my liver deserted me. But here's a pic anyways!

I'm lucky enough to work with lots of cool rich people who feel they have to nice things for me. Horrible huh? Anyways, one of these very cool and wealthy people gave me a week in mid May at their timeshare located next to the Balboa Pier.
Basically for a whole week I did nothing but drink myself into oblivion and sleep on the beach! When my girlfriend and I arrived on a Saturday, we had to check in. They gave us one of those buckets you give your kids to use to dig up sand. I spent the rest of the week drinking Capt. Morgan Parrot Bay Rum Pineapple flavor, pineapple and cranberry juice out of the "F--- It" bucket.
We went to Taco Tuesday at El Ranchito in Newport and a bunch of young dudes bought us drinks all night. We then went to Sharkeez on a Thursday and although no young dudes bought us drinks the bouncer kept coming around and made sure we got our drinks with out having to leave our spot. We also spent a little time at a place called Cabo Cantina, it was only about 2 blocks from our place and has a great late night happy hour. I highly recommend it if you're way down in Balboa. My girlfriend and I even got a day in at Disneyland. BTW never go to D-land with less than 4 hours of sleep and a giant hangover.
On our last night at the beach house, we stayed in all night and partyied on our patio. One of my girlfriends was so drunk that when she used the potty she dropped her cellphone in too. Our last day was a very sad day, not only did we have to be out on a Saturday but we had to be out at 10am. What made it worse is that the management told us after we had left that we could have left LATER with no adverse reactions. Gee thanks dude! Couldn't tell me that BEFORE?
Most of what we did is rather vague in my head since i spent 85% of it either drinking, drunk or hung over. But I'm here to share my experiences I remember and pics for your viewing pleasure.

I went out Saturday night, with the sole purpose of doing what I can to add to the LoT Pub total. ;) I'm a giver, I am.
First stop was a place called SoHo (http://www.sohosb.com/), because my friend liked the band that was playing, Delta Nove (http://www.dnove.com/). I was somewhat unimpressed, but they were ok. I was feeling a bit drained after a long day, so I decided to forgo my usual V & T for something with a little caffeine and had a couple or four Red Bull & Vodkas.
It was kinda a weird night. First when I was standing outside lamenting with some random people over having quit smoking (with cigarettes in our hands) "Believe it or not, I quit smoking." <drag> "Me too!" <drag> "No, I'm serious, I quit, this is my first in weeks." <drag> "I'm serious too, it's just when I drink......" <drag> "Yeah" I looked inside and saw a kid I used to know. I probably haven't seen him in 13 years, so he was 12 when I saw him last, but he looked exactly the same (only much bigger.) As I was standing there staring at him in shock, I heard someone say, "Hi Heather!" It was his older brother, who I hadn't seen in about nine years. I used to be friends with their older brother, who was killed in a car accident when I was in high school. I had lost track of them, and it was really weird to see them. I mean, they were really weird. I don't remember them being weird as kids. It made me feel really melencholy.
Then a little bit later, an older dude came up to me and just said, "You're all grown up!" Then, luckily for him he said, "Remember me, I'm Tom!" (I say luckily for him because I was with my guy friends who are like a cross between a doberman, a rottweiler & a pit bull, and they're protective of me like I am their master;) ) Anyway, he had been the finish carpentry guy when my parents were building their house, 14 years ago. He remembered me from when I was sixteen, and hit the side of my parents garage with my car, a week after we moved in.
Anyway, we stayed there for quite a while since my friend was groovin' on the band, then we headed down to The Sportsman (http://www.google.com/local?q=the+sportsman+bar&hl=en&lr=&sa=X&near=Santa+Barbara,+CA&radius=0&latlng=34423333,-119703333,14051997798952136538) which you can always recognise by the crowd of smokers outside it. It was around 1:15am, and very crowded, and luckily, just as I was opening my mouth to tell my friend what to order for me, I remembered that they serve ridiculously strong drinks, and changed my order to a bottle of beer. My memory is a bit fuzzy from all the Red Bull & Vodkas I had earlier, but I seem to recall a brown bottle with a green label, so I think I had a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I could be wrong, though. What I like best about the Sportsman is the heavy metal music that is constantly playing, as well as the ESPN & Fox Sports that I can zone out to.....We had a couple of beers, then headed out the door after last call, and that was the end of a very odd evening.

As you all know, I went on vacation last month and had a great nite at Sharkeez in Newport Beach. When we were there last they insisted I complete their little "Win a VIP" party form. I did and of course I received a VIP party. The party was for 10 or more people, drinks were you call it/well/ beer/wine 2 for 1 and a huge party platter of food.
I can honestly say that if you get the opportunity to go to Sharkeez to sign up for that party because it certainly was worth it!! Good sized drinks and great food plus they reserve a booth for you. The place really gets to jumping around 10 but we had an early Happy Hour and didn't need to drink once it was over. Can't beat that!

Went to Westwood Brewery to celebrate my sister's graduation from her UCLA MBA program. Second time I've been there, the first was just for dinner. This was for drinkin' hour. My oh my. As I understand, Friday's tend not to be particularly busy nights, so they may have just been unprepared for the graduation crowds. But damn did the service suck. Table drink service ended at about 11. And the bar....my brother in law spent 30 minutes trying to get drinks. He gave up. I took his place. The two (female) bartenders were paying attention to about 1/5 of the length of the bar. Bitches.
However, I managed to get a drink.....by chatting up the cute blonde that squeezed in next to me. SHE got one of the bartender's attention. Yay.
The good: Mixed drinks were average, micro brew's pretty good. The building, and surrounding buildings are great old brick buildings. There's a large outdoor courtyard in the middle that's nice, and even at the most crowded the courtyard had plenty of elbow room. And you gotta appreciate the undergrad hoochies.
The bad: Service. And you gotta get sick of the undergrad hoochies.

Last night we had dinner at Vert - the Wolfgang Puck Restaurant at Hollywood & Highland. I know, Wolfgang's a bit passe for this swank crowd, but the place had quite a few swanky touches. Actually, the bar seemed a bit cooler than the dinning room - might be a nice place to stop for a drink between movies.

Friday night was one of my best friend's 31st birthday, so BarTopDancer and I headed up to Santa Barbara to celebrate with him.
First stop was Pasqual's, a legendary old time SB restaurant. Pasqual's is yet another place famous for their strong drinks, and I've been there dozens of times, but every time, when I watch them make the drinks, I'm shocked. First some ice, then fill the glass almost all the way full with vodka, then literally, a splash of tonic. I swear, they don't even pour the tonic for a full second. My friends always joke that the tonic (or whatever mixer) is so expensive that they have to conserve it. The food at Pasqual's is always good, although on Friday I forgot to eat (must have had something to do with the strong drinks), except for a piece of cake that some girl actually tossed to me like a frisbee (again, must have had something to do with the drinks.)
Next we all piled into cars and headed over to The Brewhouse across town to see my friend's band Burning Edamame perform. The band was excellent, as always. Even if I didn't know they were great, I would have known after a creepy stranger told me how great they are three or four times. Yeah dude, I know. I'm the president & only member of their fan club OK, not really.
After the band played, & The Brewhouse had their last call at midnight, we headed back to State Street & headed for my favorite SB Irish pub, Dargan's (http://www.dargans.com/santa_barbara/index.php?location=1). Dargan's was totally dead (which would have suited me just fine, but a) the guys wanted to be where the action is, and b) we were out of smokes and Dargan's doesn't sell them.
So we headed across the street to The Press Room which was absolutely packed. The Press Room is the place to go in Santa Barbara if you want to watch your favorite rugby team on satellite. Or if you want to meet hot guys with sexy accents. We closed the place down, then alas, I had a washer, dryer & refrigerator to be delivered the next morning, so we headed back to my place. It was definitely a great evening. When I hit the ripe old age of 31, I hope I can have as swanky a celebration!

Well I have managed to hit a couple of places since my last post. :)
I have gone, um twice  to Chuy's for their Happy Hour drinks prices and chips and salsa. The top shelf caddy margarita is two thumbs up the Melon eh.
Then I hit Mauricio's(yeah more mexican food it's Bakersfield whadda ya expect)for many Prickly Pear Margarita's...two thumbs up for the margaritas(well I saw 4 thumbs)but the food bleech. Nice outside cantina though.
Then this weekend while at DL I had to stop by Uva for a Martini, or three, on Saturday. Canteloupe ones were good, but too expensive.
Then to Tortilla Jo's for happy hour nibbles and more Prickly Pear margaritas(mmmmm very good)and a few snippets of conversation with Evil Minion. :)
There are more places to discover here and I'll be sure to post them upon finding them. I've been enjoying my cocktails on my back patio lately though, cheaper and I can pick my own music and I can take a dip if it gets too hot :D

So far I've only made it to the Cheesecake Factory and that doesn't really count. Although I did have a very tasty lemon drop.
We're going to Fremont Outdoor Movie night Saturday, so we may find a beverage consumption opportunity there.

Friday night was one of my best friend's 31st birthday, so BarTopDancer and I headed up to Santa Barbara to celebrate with him.
You're never too old to get your ass kicked by a 7 y/o.
I couldn't figure out how cute guy knew I liked a little coke with my rum. But you know how expensive Coke and tonic is these days... gotta conserve it. I had no idea you had to go all the way to Santa Barbara to meet a guy from HB?
...except for a piece of cake that some girl actually tossed to me like a frisbee (again, must have had something to do with the drinks.)
Frisbee cake!!!!!! mmmm floor cake. There was a bar, and I was being offered money to dance on it, alas it wasn't ment to be, I woulda hit my head on the ceiling.
Yay! Drunk directions!!!!!!!! Who knew a Element had so much back seat room? Not me! Every bar has a creepy guy. Ya dude, you're old enough to be my dad. And you're not even remotely attractive. Go away. Thank you.
The drinks there wern't as strong at the brewhouse. I assume they had good beer but I'm not a beer fan, and sadly most of the beer I saw people drinking was not from the tap.
All night Rugby! How in the heck did I forget hot sexy accent guy??? When you turn 31 your celebration will be amazing, full of hot guys with sexy accents.
YAY new appliances!!!!

Well, I started out tonight at the Hotel Bar - AKA Le Bar (http://www.sofitel.com/sofitel/fichehotel/gb/sof/2993/fiche_restaurant.shtml), which is actually a rather swanky place. It's hot in Chicago - 93 today - so I set out for fuzzy water, and once hydrated switched to Sidecars, which they make exceptionally well. Not Afraid joined me for most of this via her favorite media, her cell phone and we traded tales of swank and fashion.
Next up, I had dinner at Le Colonial (http://www.lecolonialchicago.com), a hip Vietnamese place with heavy French Colonial influences (French and Asian - my two favorite things these days ;) ). I ate at one of the sofa lounges in the bar, and with the heat and humidity was instanly transported to Southeast Asia. More fuzzy water with dinner, but I finished with a cognac (Delamain - Mmmmmm)
So, I had read about this place called the Motel Bar (http://themotelbar.com/), which sounded like a swank way to finish the evening. It's about 10 or so blocks from my hotel so I decided to walk it. Found myself in a hip neighborhood of design and furnature shops with a few cool daytime eateries, but as the sun continued to set, and I continued to walk, I began to notice a shift in the neighborhood, now there were a lot of check cashing places, and loitering women in short shorts and rather tight, high cut halters. Then there was the projects, complete with boarded up windows, and debris. It was then a group of youths passed me by, talking to me in the third person, "That guy's crazy, he should get his white ass home." Considering, I've never been to this place and that it had some sort of funky side street enterance (i.e. picture me looking around dark alleys), I decided to take their third person advice and return to my hotel.
Maybe next time I'll take a cab.

Good call, €uro- this is a 'Pub Crawl', not a 'Crawl to the Local Emergency Room'.;

Last night I went to Malarky's Irish Pub in Newport Beach. It's a great place that I haven't been to in years. Very cozy and packed! Drinks are a little expensive but well worth it. My girlfriend and I met lots of nice fun men to flirt with and buy us drinks. We ended up closing the place down. Now I'm paying for it at work!
Off to Phoenix for the weekend. I'm sure I'll have a new story to report. :p

I 'had' to go to the French Market this afternoon to get some alligator jerky for my nephews that I'm visiting next week - and as I was leaving (successfully, by the way!) I see Margaritaville, and decided I needed to have a Margarita. Even though it was cool in there, I didn't really feel like staying, so I got a Raspberry 'Rita in a go cup and was on my way back towards my car, fighting the crowds and heat, sipping on the refreshing concoction of tequila and raspberry liquor.
I was GOING to get myself a Pimms cup (http://www.napoleonhouse.com/pimmscup.html) from Napoleon House (http://www.napoleonhouse.com/index.html), but I saw Margaritaville first and it was blasted hot out (even though the Pimms cup is very refreshing).

Drice, that is so swanky! :snap: :snap:
I went to Phoenix over the weekend to celebrate my friend's impending divorce. We went to "Fat Tuesday" in downtown Phoenix. Now, if you've never been Fat Tuesday is also located in Vegas in the MGM, Caesars & the Aladdin. I highly recommend it. It's basically a bar with blended drinks that taste like slurpies. Mmmmm Mmm good!
Afterwards, we headed to a club called the "Owl's Nest". Located on the third floor above Hooters, it had a very swanky club/bar including a really great patio area that over looks the whole town. If it wasn't 1000 degrees outside I would have enjoyed the patio much more. Very cosy place with an interesting crowd!

Last Saturday night I met up with a friend visiting from out of town at a local place called Alessio's whose swank factor is greatly increased by the overstuffed sofas in the bar area where you can lounge & drink. Alessio's also serves Italian food that always smells good, but I'm a bit embarrassed to say I've only drank there, I've never eaten there.
Also, on Tuesday this week (I think, I've lost track of my days) my mom and I went to the Cheesecake Factory in Marina Del Rey and had Lemondrops & Avocado Egg Rolls on the patio....very yummy, and awesome view.

Last night we had Drinks at Bono's - (Owned by Sonny's Daughter, Christy) in Long Beach. The bar was rather swanky and my Manhattan's were delish.
Tonight, it was the House of Blues to see Brazilian Girls, great eclectic crowd included friends we hadn't seen in years. I was sticking to the fuzzy water tonight, but Lisa got hooked up with some swanky non-alki cocktail in the bar afterwards that was rather tasty - wonder if we'll ever figure out what it was.

Roadhouse, same parking lot as Chuy's, has good food and better drinks. Their Roadhouse Koolaide is killer!! Stay away from the one at California and 99, it is NOT the same.
We "regulars" of the other Chuy's call the one you are referring to as the Disney Chuy's. It is huge. I prefer our little hole in the wall on this side of town... it is a lot like the old TV show Cheers. You walk in and everyone knows you and the bartenders have their drinks waiting for you when they see your car in the lot.
About the only place we go out to drink to is Chuy's-every Friday night.

I attempted to add to the tally tonight. But what had be a perfectly fine pub, complete with English-style bar taking up much of the limited space, has added a live deejay and stuffed itself full of people whose major intellectual accomplishment is walking upright.
Grrrr.

I forgot to add that for a locally owned place Mauricio's sux.
There is a place called La Colonia on the east/central part of town that is really really good. The only problem is that it is in a verrrrrrrrrry bad area. It is surrounded by 20' walls topped with razor wire. dsnylndmom, if you have heard of the Cottonwood area, that is where it is/was located. It is not a part of town you want to visit if you are unfamiliar with the area.

So went to Vegas July 15 for a fun filled weekend. Had a BLAST!!! I have to report the best thing about Vegas is my still favorite top ranking minibar - Fat Tuesdays! I LOVE ME SOME FAT TUESDAYS!!! Whenever I go to Vegas it's the first stop right when we get to town. It is located in the strip mall in the MGM (also the Aladdin & Caesers but MGM is so much easier to get to). Yes, I know, I've already stated my love of FAT TUESDAY'S somewhere around here but I have to say it again, with feeling.
Friday night we went to Studio 54 in the MGM hotel. I like Studio because of the two levels with a variety of dance area and bars. Plus, Studio has a "floor show" in the sky with girls and guys doing trapese. It's a must see.
Saturday we went to the Palms. Luckily a friend of ours works at the hotel as a bartender and hooked us up with cheap drinks early on in the night. We also got into RAIN because of another friend hooking us up with getting us on the VIP list. No Line No Cover. Can't beat that!! Too bad my friend got so drunk that we had to leave early but we had a blast no matter what!!

I actually went somewhere! And had an alcoholic beverage!
Agua Verde (http://www.aguaverde.com/Menus/dinnerdrinks.htm) is a great little coastal-style Mexican place by the UW that is known for their margaritas, excellent food, and lousy service. I fantasize about them everytime I get take out lunch during the week. But Wednesday night we met my friend and her boyfriend (on 2 weeks leave from the Army; stationed in Iraq) for dinner and we all sampled the beverages.
Venezia and I each had the Margarita Fresa and it was very tasty. Ryan tried the Margarita Toronja and Nigel had a couple top-shelf margaritas of some sort or another. Next time I want to try the tuna-rita. Some of the salsas are free, but the Salsa Mexicana and the Guacamole are extra and they're both worth it. How good is the guac? I didn't even like avacados until I tried theirs.
It's a festive atmosphere with brightly colored walls and a screened porch. You can rent kayaks from the lower level which is on the ship canal. It's very popular so be prepared to wait for a table and don't even think of putting your name on the list until your entire party is there. And you don't get to linger at your table -- you have plenty of time to linger while you're waiting to be served! But afterwards you can go outside to a little park area right next door and watch ducks and kayakers on the canal.
Not Afraid

I know just where that place is, Prudence! I've actually rented canoes, raced madly across the canal (avoiding boats) to paddle through the arboretum. Beautiful area.

Tonight I went with Venezia to the Capitol Club (http://www.thecapitolclub.net/), which is on Capitol Hill, of course. Decor is quite swanky. In fact, swanky is the word V used to describe the place. It has sort of a Moroccan vibe. The bar is upstairs. (Note to other patrons: if there's only one handrail, please let the heavyset tipsy woman in 3 inch heels coming down the stairs have the handrail. Please.)
The bar is upstairs and there's a restaurant downstairs. We may have to check out the restaurant some time. Of course it's up for competition with the purportedly authentic Moroccan down the street and the crepe place I can not believe is still up the street. (Every place I know closes! But 611 Supreme is still there!)
But back to the Capitol Club. They mix a strong drink! I had the Torquemada, (http://www.thecapitolclub.net/cocktails.htm) of course. It was very tasty! Definitely going to try this place again. I need to sample the Casbah and the Emerald.

Enjoyed an evening at Chat Noir (http://www.culinaryadventures.com/Pages/ChatNoir.html) in Costa Mesa last night. It's pretty swanky and a little on the expensive side but the food looks great and the drinks and atmosphere are very cool. I didn't get the opportunity to eat dinner but a gentleman at the bar next to me was eating spare ribs that looked delicious! He said the meat was so tender that he didn't even use a fork. Some other people I spoke with highly recommended dinner there. I plan on going back. But what I really enjoyed was the jazz/blues entertainment in the bar area. Great date place too! ;)

Orange International Street Fair (http://www.orangestreetfair.com) begins this Friday! If you haven't been to the Street Fair here in good old Orange, CA then you're missing out! It includes German, Swiss, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Greek, Irish and even American foods and some cool selections of beers. Free entertainment, free admission and pricey but good food!
Ever since I worked at Chapman University, it's been a tradition to take in the Street Fair starting Friday at 3pm. Chapman closes its doors early just because the president of the university believes it's important people go! We'll start our evening at O'Haras Pub which usually has beer specials just for the weekend. At approximately 6pm, we'll head back out into the sunlight to start eating our way (and drinking our way) thru the fair. First stop, German food! I'd list all of our stops but get the idea. Lastly, we close our evening drinking in front of Rod's Liquor Store until 9pm then once the fair stops serving alcohol we close either Oharas, Pauls or the District! And that's just on Friday!
Here's to the upcoming Labor Day weekend! Can't wait!!
