Came back last night from my 6 day trip. Don't want to bore anyone with major details, but I have some observations.
Fireworks - beyond incredible. Best I've ever seen anywhere. Not that I am any type of fireworks expert, but they were amazing. Saw them Wednesday, and then from a different spot after Fantasmic (where we had reserved seating) on Friday night. Different perspective, still great.
Was not that impressed by the Parade of Dreams. We saw it Tuesday, and never wanted to see it again.
To contrast that, I thought the Block Party Bash was awesome. Fun, full of energy, and repeatable because of how they do the show stops. We saw it three times so that we could sit near the different major floats each time.
I think DCA is starting to come together a bit. I've always thought it was OK, but I think it's getting better. There are some great attractions, and now two great parades, and a good show. Once Monsters Inc opens, it is closer, assuming it is a good ride. Don't get me wrong - some things there still suck. Mulholland Madness is a waste of space. As are the games on the pier and the swing rides and Golden Dreams. But some things at DL suck, too.
Like Pooh. You know, I originally thought it was an OK ride, but having it directly next to Splash Mountain.....it really shows the contrast between a great ride with details and....well....this one.
DL looks great.
I have never experienced anything like trying to leave Fantasmic on Friday evening after the fireworks. It took 20 minutes to get from that seating to the hub. I thank God we were staying at the GC so we did not have to go dsown mainstreet - we cut over to the monorail and hopped on in about 5 minutes. I honestly think that if a fire ever broke out in a building near there at that time that several people would be trampled to death in the panic. A bit scary, but I don't know if there is any solution.
The buzz ride is cool. I could see it becoming addicting. I probably rode it 7 or 8 times, and each time I was ticked that I missed a target or didn't get a better score. I wanted to ride again and again to better it. My best was 505,000, ranking 51st for the day at that time. I have no idea how people score over a million because I didn't have more than a second or two between hits, and a lot of those were on triangles or diamonds.
My three year old daughter was finally 40 inches tall. Her new favorite ride is the Tower of Terror. She was hysterical. My 5 year old son finds Gadgets Go Coaster scary, but my three year.....she's quite the thrill seeker.
Anyway......CP, I could swear I saw you on Sunday, based on the pictures you have here, but was too chicken to call out "Cadaverous Pallor!".
