I found a guy on Craig's list, they're more expeensive than face value, but quite a bit less than some I've seen. I'm getting a $50.00 "T" section ticket. They range from $40.00-$90.00. He seems to have quite a few. Anyone want to go?

ThinKrisps go great in a Hollywood Bowl picnic basket. I'm just saying.

Ha, I said "expEEnsive!"

Found a ticket for tonight at a more affordable $20.00. Gots to love Craig's list.

How does the Hollywood Bowl exist as it is in the middle of Los Angeles? What a total anomaly. Not just allowed, but encouraged to bring your own food, alcohol, and glassware. The don't view a corkscrew as a terrorist threat. It doesn't have secret-service level security watching every dark, secluded corner. All of this, and the audience maintains a respetable level of decorum. It's the last bastion of night-on-the town freedom on this city, and I've been sadly remiss in not having been in my adult life until yesterday.

But what a perfect show to be my first! Fess Parker was a show stealer, both reciting Lincoln's words and singing the Davey Crocket theme song, there was a spectacular Alice in Wonderland suite, never before performed live. But possibly the biggest highlight was during intermission. At the start of the show, the conductor said that Disney had "opened the vault" for them. He wasn't kidding. Not only were they performing arrangements never before performed live, during intermission, they were showing park footage, from construction through yesterday morning, that I have never seen. It was indescribable, I can't tell you how fortunate I felt to be seeing that. And it helped to have been in great company.

Oh, and the fireworks show...magnifique. With the limited latitude they have with their location, they put on a hell of a show. Earlier in the evening, some of us scoffed that they shouldn't be showing footage of Wishes or Believe so as not to get people's hopes up for their own efforts. But, while nothing can really match a top level Disney display, what they were lacking in magnitude, they made up for in volume and exuberance. Yay.

We're backlogged with photos to upload, hopefully we'll have last night's up in the near future.
