He then was asked to join the Disney family, to create the title role of "Aladdin" in the live stage production of the animated musical. Though a joy to work with so many fine actors and a fantastic creative staff, Michael has described the experience as "the absolute worst working experience of my life and one I very well may like to forget."

OUCH!

That was her name. I thought the same thing when I read that over at the pad but for the life of me, I could not remember her name.

Was that the chick who was massively obsessed with him? Did he ever have a restraining order put out on her?

I love how quickly this story spread through boards. :p

However, I do wonder what happened to that person. I'm surprised she didn't kick up a stink when Michael left (I don't even remember when I noticed that he wasn't there anymore; hadn't seen the show until about two months ago).

I feel for him that he was in a production that was terrible. I have been in shows and worked at places that turned out to be horrid experiences. But to put in your bio that it sucked? Match + liter fluid + bridge. (!)

Meh.
I'd happily burn a bridge between me and Anne Hamburger's entertainment department.

Burn away, but would you put it on your online resume?

Whatever happened to that insipid Aladdin show? Is it "glowing away forever"?

I think it's still running.
I heard attendance dropped off after that crewperson died.
But I'm not for certain.

Depends on how definitely I'd decided I never wanted to work with them again. If I wasn't hurting for work? Sure.

Wow, ouch is right. Well from his bio, it's great that he truly did depart for bigger and better things, such as the Stephen Sondheim's Pacific Overtures. I'm tucking away good US$ for what I hope to be an incredible production.
