Wow, there's a lot of stuff going on for Disneyland Birthday weekend. To help you get a handle on all the happenings, here's a list of some of the swankier stuff:

 Saturday, July 16th - Drink-Up Meet-Ups - Happy Hour at Tortilla Jo's Cantina in Downtown Disney, starting at 6:00 p.m. Later that evening, at 10:00 p.m. or post-fireworks, Cocktail Party at the Uva Bar in DTD. And a late night Night Cap at the Lost Bar at the Disneyland Hotel around midnight.

These drink-up meets were suggested by folks at the Disneyland message board MiceChat, but a lot of other Disneyland internet sites have picked up on it as a great way for everyone to meet in a socially lubricating situation for fun and friendliness. Can we at the LoT be left out of the Disneyland Birthday Cocktail Events?? I think not.

:gnome: Sunday, July 17th - The High Noon, Disneyland Birthday, Mega-Meet - Sunday at the Hub at Noon has been a Disneyland meet tradition for as long as anyone can remember. This time, I think every Disneyland message board and web site on the planet is having its members meet somewhere near the Hub at noon o'clock on the Birthday. Heheh, because most of them are afeared the Hub will closed like it was on May 5th, they are meeting at the Plaza Inn or Carnation Gardens or other locations just off the Hub. But we're gonna be optimistic and set our LoT Meet AT THE HUB. Ya know, by the White Rabbit statue! We'll go visiting all the other meets surrounding the Hub to schmooze with our fellow Disneyland Geeks from around the world!

(oh and, um, if the Hub is closed on the Birthday, the LoT meet will be at the Plaza Pavilion. That's the one on the Adventureland side, where they recently moved Rod's piano to.)

After the Mega-Meet, we are going to try to gather 70 Disneyland fans for a Take-Over-the-Caroussel Ride in Fantasyland. Can horses be sunk?

:iSm: Saturday and Sunday, July 16th and 17th - Disneyland Thru the Decades Attraction Quest - a funtastic way to experience the best adventures and attractions of the Magic Kingdom through its five decades of being the Happiest Place on Earth. Details can be found at this thread (http://www.xenarchy.com/LoT/showthread.php?t=1559) - but basically, we are going to start at 10am on Saturday and at 8:00am on Sunday, and do one major attraction from each Disneyland Decade on each day. It's going to be a blast.

:birdy: Sunday, July 17th - Remember Fireworks Campout - since there won't be much point in trying to go on rides for most of Sunday, or even much sense in trying to move about the Park till way, way after dark .... we are going to camp out for the fireworks at a prime location. Come find us north of Walt and hang out with friends ... once you realize that you're not riding anything and you're not going anywhere. The theme of the camp-out will be Remember, as we entertain and enthrall each other with our favorite Disneyland tales of hijinks and happenings at the Park over the years.

That's the official LoT stuff, people ... but there's more going on all weekend long. Friday Night at midnight, Compass Books will start selling the new Harry Potter tome - and they will be having a Harry Potter themed party at their store in Downtown Disney that evening. There's also been talk about some kind of swanky lounge party in a suite at the Disneyland Hotel. If you go to Compass Books that night and look up at the Sierra Tower, you'll probably be able to figure out which suite the big party's in so's you can crash!

:coffee: Other internet sites are having other meets over the weekend. Because I mod over at MiceChat, I'm privy to their plans - and their meets are pretty fun if you can't get enough of those Disney Geek Meets. Besides the Birthday Noon Mega-Meet, the MiceChat Gang (and friends) will be meeting at 6pm on Friday at the Hub, and on 2pm on Saturday in the Carnation Gardens just off the Hub.

 If you're up late at night, you probably can't go wrong to check out the action at the Park Inn International on Harbor - - that's where all the sluttiest folks from out of town are staying, and that place should be hoppin' all night long.

 And hey, if you hear of anything else fun going on for birthday weekend, please post it here at the Clearinghouse of Disneyland Birthday Fun.

Great stuff dahlink, but the building near the Adventureland entrance where the piano now resides is the Plaza Pavillion, Plaza Inn is the one on the TL side that the Inn Between backs up to.

Sluts? Where....Where?!?

I've been known to uhhh...you know...like the b00bies now and then.

I shall pass on the group chanting of the opening day speach; sounds too much like catholic church to me. But perhaps I shall partake in some of the other varied activities...incognito of course. Perhaps a 10 gallon hat and an old McDonalds uniform would do the trick.
