Holy crap!
Who was asleep at the switch?!?!
We were!!!
July 9th officially marked the 6-month anniversary of the inception, nay -- the CREATION -- of Lounge of Tomorrow!!! And what were we doing? Certainly not mentioning it!
Perhaps this is because we are so comfortable with one another. Perhaps this is because we were --- busy. But!
This ocassion must be marked. No! CELEBRATED!!!
“To all who come to this happy place; welcome. Lounge of Tomorrow is your board. Here age relives fond memories of the past...and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Lounge of Tomorrow is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created us...with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”

Sheesh - reminds me of my wife. She refers to the 17th of every month as our "anniversary" and asks me what I bought her. I have to remind her that "ani" comes from the latin "ano", meaning yearly! Not monthly! Not every 6 months! :p :)

Yes, I understand the true meaning of anniversary, but is it really that jubilant to say "Hey -- it's been 6 months. Awesome." ??
Anyhow, 6 months is 6 months, and I have to say that it's been a pretty smooth ride, and that is cause for celebration!
I think we should go to Disneyland to celebrate!

I can't make the grand Disneyland celebration, but I did want to add that it's been 10 years since I had an electronic "home." 10 years since the days of the local dial-up BBS. Other on-line haunts were pale substitutes and IRC was, well, scary beyond belief.
So thanks for finally giving me a place to hang my mouse.

(and triple :snap: to the first person to make a lewd remark about my mouse!)Well, if you put it that way, this is definitely the House of Mouse. ;)
Thanks to everyone who actually stayed here...we may have helped design it, but it's nothing without you.

Now, there are six more months to plan some sort of celebration for LoT's first-year anniversary. Whatever happens, why do I have a feeling that  will be included in the festivities? ;) Happy six months to LoT and all the swanky people here!

Yeah, we should get together at Disneyland to celebrate... I'm availible to go to DL on Sunday, how about you guys? ;)
We should definitely plan ahead (haha, typo, I nearly said plan head) for the 1-year party. Something swanky like a poetry reading, or something wild like a Steve party (j/k sweetie, I'm not volunteering you for anything)

Actually, we did the public launch after midnight, so technically, the 10th is correct. Though I suppose it would be more Disneyesque to celebrate the invite-only insider event the day before the actual public opening, eh?
6 months. It alternately seems like just yesterday and a million years ago. Now, if only I had something to do around here. All the hacks are in, and lord knows I don't have to moderate crap.

Yes, can someone please get obnoxious so us moderators can keep our jobs?
Six months, whew!
Hmmm, let's start slowly rolling out some invites. Some of us must all have met some swanky people between January and now. This place needs some new, friendly faces. (and maybe a few obnoxious ones to give the mods something to do.)
