Well, we decided, last minute, that we would see if we could stay OP for the Birthday. I have ONE room at the DL Hotel with 2 Queen Beds on a courtesy hold until tonight at 8:00 pm. It is pricy, but, by splitting the cost, we could swing it.

The reservations are for Friday and Saturday, the 15th and 16th.
The cost is $330 per night - so it would be $330 total per couple for 2 days.

IF you are interested, let me know ASAP! I will cancel if we can't share.

Well, we'll go for it IF we can find some partners in financial crime.

Thanks for your advice on this ML. I wouldn't have gotten this far without it.

 Momentary Devil's Advocate:

If you are going to the Park on the 17th at or near Park Opening (which has now been moved to 7am) and will not be able to leave the Park that day for fear of not getting back in ... you would have to be out of your room at the same time as you leave for the Park at the literal crack of dawn.

But it will be so much easier to get to the Park at the literal crack o' dawn if you are staying on-property.

If there's anyone else willing to go for it, I'll sleep on the floor. ;)

Heh, looks like GD and I are among the last local holdouts. Only 15-20min for us to get from home to the structure, so it's just not worth it for us.

Hope you guys get someone to room with!

Yeah, we'll see. We're 20 mins from DL, but then we'd have to wait at the structure for a million years. If I have to start my morning at such a frantic pace, I will, but we'll see what the options end up being.

Yes, but if you try to book the rooms, the price goes up to what I was quoted.

Could you guys park at our hotel? We're not using a car, but we have two rooms between us, so I'd think the front desk would allow it...?

From the sound of it, the structure shouldn't be a problem. They'll have the Timon lot open all night, and the structure open at 6AM. That should be enough to keep things from backing up.

It was on the 5th, so I expect it to have problems on the more-crowded 17th. But, then I got there late and it was easy. I'm not sure I want to risk that on the 17th.

Jen got there 30 minutes before the park opened on the 5th and had zero problem at the structure.

Really? Then maybe it wasn't her complaining about the parking that morning.

Really? Then maybe it wasn't her complaining about the parking that morning. The structure itself was a total breeze that morning - every booth was open, they were loading two levels at once, I barely paused before parking, and I got a tram in no time.

The only catch was getting from the Ball exit (5 northbound) to the structure. That was rather bad. That can be avoided by exiting Katella and doing the Disneyland drive U-turn, which has become my standard procedure on Friday evenings when I hit the park straight from work. Even with that route, it's maybe 25 min from home to the structure.

Oh man, if I'm pooping out at only 11pm, how on earth am I going to get my sleep on track for this weekend? Between Wicked and the lineup, I'm in for trouble if I can't adjust by Friday!

Well, we let the room go.

We may do something else, or just stay with the kitties at nigh. We will see.
