If the date is July 17, 2005 and you are reading this...

Welcome to the losers lounge. Since you are not at Disneyland and you are not sequestered with the potter book what are you up to?

Right now I'm cleaning off the desk in my home office, later I plan to do some laundry and for a break go down to the mall and order some glasses for my daughter.

Yup, I feel right at home here in the losers lounge.

Good Morning to you, too!
Right now I'm taking a bit of a break from lawn mowing (had to rehydrate and cool off a little), then it's back to that, church, grocery shopping, and cleaning/laundry/some work work stuff. I finished Potter yesterday, even with not starting it until after 10 am and taking a break to go to Home Depot to get some lawn debris bags so that I would be able to mow the lawn this morning.

I have a real hard time with the timing of my lawn mowing. weather.com says it's 85F, 72% RH and a 'feels like' of 93F. This is before 10am local. BUT, the lawn is still a bit wet - so if I waited longer for it too dry up a little more, it'd be even HOTTER out (I waited until 9 for the noise factor, though).

So that's my loser's lament for this morning.

But the good news is that later today I'm going to book my flight and probably car rental for a WDW trip right after Thanksgiving! AND they've said they're doing a Halloween party at DCA on 4 nights this year, and I'm going to be THERE the weekend before Halloween (Oct 21-23), so if I'm lucky, I'll be able to do that, too! I'm just interested to see how that works out, though, given the things I liked most about the party we went to in WDW are going to be hard to do in DCA (parade, fireworks and riverboat 'ghost' stories - ok the parade they might be able to pull off...)

Well, I think I'm through sweating profusely, time to get back to the lawn!

Just watched an amazing stage of the Tour de France. Now I'm thinking of going to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It's the only "geek" think that I would have left to do this weekend.

I feel right at home here, thanks!

I haven't finished the last Potter book so no hurry to get the new one.

Let's see, my excitement for today includes doing laundry, cleaning house and taking care of all the kittens that keep getting dumped on my door step!
I should be mowing the lawn and weed eating the jungle parts but it is soo hot today I think I'll skip that!
It's good to know I'm not the only one missing all the fun!

Just watched Tiger win the British Open. Now I'm off to work out before it gets too hot (105 expected high).

I'm happy, and I certainly do NOT feel like a loser.

Were I in SoCal, I would feel obligated to be at Disneyland today--and I would be hating every hot, sticky, crowded minute of it.

Where I am, it's air-conditioned, quiet, and I've got a whole apartment to myself. I don't have to wait in line for barely-adequate food (though I could do with another box of Gardenburgers or something), I can drink as much iced tea as I like without worrying about annoying other people over having to stop in every bathroom (and wait in line), and if I fall asleep, I don't have to worry about getting stepped on or having my stuff stolen.

As far as I can see, I win.

Ha! That's a fall day! Today we are expecting 116. We'll be above that, as at 12:15 I was out and my car display told me it was already 115.

I also watched Tiger win - somewhat anticlimactic and not nearly as fun as the Masters. Something told me that Tiger wasn't going to quintuple bogey the final hole and force a playoff.

Just taking a halftime breack from the potter book. Lots of homework and shopping. Nordtrom anniversary sale and all (today was shoes.) Back to the book!

I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory twice, as well as Wedding Crashers. I enjoyed both. I also endured the torture of text messages and voice mails from folks inside the park. It was hell ;)

Poor Vegas. Why did you have to hurt its feeling? All Vegas wanted to do was entertain you, and rock your world with adult style gaming, but then you had to say that.

Besides, did you see photos of the crowds at DL? What the hell? I do not need to be in the middle of that crap. I will just go later and pretend its July 17th. DL won't know.
