Well, we may be missing one or two, but Matterhorn Fan and Flippyshark have blessed us with their swankness. I am happy to have their brilliant East Coast insight, because, cats, that's a whole different breed of swank.
Welcome, my friends!

We'll see if we can't persuade a certain bell captain to infuse this scene with a little of his patented shmoozy charm.
Meanwhile, remember our mantra: Bitter is Better
Welcome aboard FS!!!!!!!!! If you could persuade our Beloved to show his smiling face that would simply be stunning! or is that swankiest?

Hello . . . Thanks for the welcome.
Are we still a whole different breed of swank even though FS and I are not originally from the East?

Hi Lashbear!
We're still missing one--the Bellcaptain's probably too tired from throwing swanky parties to come post on message boards right now.

Did I just hear the front desk bell? Sorry it took so long, but I was delivering some emotional baggage. It belonged to the crazy lady that lives in that tall snow capped mountain at DL. Greetings everyone. I'm a bitter east-coaster, and I'm ready to go.

Do you have your, your bitter lemon and your angastora bitters ready? I'm looking forward to some fine bitterness out of you overly baked lizard types. I hope you'll be here until the bitter end! ;)
(You know I love you.)
Good to see you here!

Cool! I knew I liked this place for a reason. For those who don't know me, I love the old 60's lounge music.
It's great to see so many freinds from my previous posting days here, even if some of them are using an alias user name. I'll try to be a regular poster if I can.
It's wonderful to see you're alive and well our Beloved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even if you have been MIA forever!

Great amounts of sympathy from the other corner of the Arcticfied states, Steph!
Not that I'm bitter about it, or anything.;)

Seattle-ites are snow wusses. :p
Seriously, you get an inch of snow and the whole damn city shuts down.

Seriously, you get an inch of snow and the whole damn city shuts down.
There are two primary kinds of drivers in Seattle: those who panic at the mere thought of snow and slow to an incomprehensible crawl (usually going uphill), and those who have shiny new all-wheel drive vehicles and speed around without considering that increased ability to "go" does not equal increased ability to "stop." Add those two together, slap them onto the freeways, and you have the reason most of us just stay home, even when it's just a dusting. My husband's family is from Ellensburg (east side of the state, for those not familiar, and might as well be a different country) and when we were courting he used to come over the pass in the snow. You can tell the west-siders from the east-siders. So there he is, chugging along at a steady, but measured pace, not so fast as to be out of control, but not so slow as to lose traction, and this SUV goes whizzing around him, honking and sharing their most favorite hand gestures. Fast forward several miles and there, off to the side of the road, is the very same SUV, front end crumpled against a snow bank. He honked and waved.

Lol, Prudence! It's the same story here. People in SUV's driving like idiots because they think their big rigs and four wheel drive means they can drive above the speed limit on ice. The repair shops love them.:D
