When the heck did they start projecting images on IASW during Remember...Dreams Come True?
Today (Mon) I was going to be snarky and watch Tink swan dive from the Tea Cups and I look towards IASW and there are all sorts of cool things being projected on it. Wow!
Are they doing it to Tom Sawer's Island (Fantasmic) too? :snap: :snap:

Tom Sawyer Island also has laser effects during the Star Tours portion of the "Remember" fireworks.

Al Lutz mentioned this in one of his recent articles on MiceAge.
Additional projections & pyro are being added to different viewing areas including It's A Small World.
Fireworks Tweaks
The tweaks to the 50th entertainment offerings at Disneyland continue to be made as the summer chugs along. The reversal of the direction the Electrical Parade travels in DCA has helped a bit in alleviating the huge crowds on Main Street and in the Hub for the fireworks show. And the revised parade times for the Parade of Dreams to earlier in the day has also helped with crowd control around the Park. And now the Entertainment department has been tasked with trying to help the Hub overcrowding even more by adding some new effects to the Small World Mall viewing area. The plan as it stands now is to add some video projectors to the planters around the large Small World building facade, and during the fireworks show project images and video on to the facade to try and duplicate the multimedia effect the people watching from the Hub get.

Note the new projector housing surrounded by ferns at small world.
Unfortunately the viewing from the Small World mall, historically a very good spot to watch Disneyland's fireworks from, is simply sub par for the 50th's new Remember show. The people watching from this area of Disneyland miss out entirely on Tinker bell's impressive flight pattern twice during the show. And many other of the effects that make Remember so wonderful in the Hub are either unseen or simply viewed out of context in the Small World area. And what's even worse is that while all of those amazing things are happening in the Hub and over the Castle, there are many long pauses in the action in the sky above Small World. The net result is a show that seems a bit disjointed and oddly timed and that gives the viewers in Small World the distinct impression that they are missing out on something. While it's a noble effort to try and add some video effects for that section of the Park after the fact, it's probably too little too late to really make much of an impact on the overcrowding in the Hub.
So there ya have it. :)

Yep, I have it on such good authority that Small World is a completely crappy place to view Remember that I will never venture there, despite the added projections.
(Ok, maybe once to satisfy my know-it-all-about-Disneyland curiosity.)
I think Dumbo/Monstro is truly going to end up my favorite non-Hub viewing point (if I "remember" to bring my private version of the soundtrack ... all but inaudible from that spot). I still would like to try some of the other areas I'm curious about, such as Adventureland entrance and the old rope walkway near Coke Corner. All of these areas enable a viewer to see the Castle and to see Tinkerbell ... and it's just not "Remember" without these elements somewhere in your field of vision.
Small World Mall and Tom Sawyer Island are simply doomed during the run of this show, no matter what gimmicks are added.
